Just wanted to give the dev some more money by delaying so more people would buy before he uploaded iirc. In general, not specifically here. But yeah, its pretty easy to find alternatives once he actually uploads the full thing.

It's hard to tell what's happening inside the mind of a person like that. The easiest explanation is powertripping. The second easiest explanation is that he's getting a cut every time somebody uses his links, and somebody else posting the same thing is bad for his income. I doubt anyone who uploads stuff on the internet really cares about how many people actually buy it.

I'm just glad most anons had the correct reaction what this whole debacle happened, but then again, some are actually counting the skipped games from our "punishment".

I actually support that idea, waiting 2 days for a drastically increased chance of another release from a good game dev seems pretty good tradeoff any way you look at it. and good studios have died to piracy before, this isn't like pirating from EA or some shit, a couple thousand sales lost can break a few of the smaller ones pretty easily. Most of the games he uploads the day of were/are games that nobody was going to buy anyway because they are trash nobody really cares about, or on the flipside, from larger studios like dieselmine/acerola with 2-3 internal devgroups. Acerola has an A and a B team, and I'm pretty sure dieselmine has A/B/C teams. They are going to continue releasing games regardless and dieselmine is even getting fucking steam releases now, they are gonna be fine regardless of what happens unless something absolutely silly happens like under 1000 sales with 90%+ piracy rate, which doesn't happen with their games anyway.

tl;dr, I think it's perfectly acceptable that better games have a slight delay, so long as a release date for the pirated version is announced beforehand so we don't have to guess as to whether or not we will get it and be scrambling around looking for it for days, with tons of people shitting up the threads begging for links.

There's nothing to be confident about other than your Japanese. It's literally just a text file, not much more than meidos translations (which will benefit from having more translators by the way. The trial of COM3D2 doesn't have much text either, and that will be reused in the full game).
