I don't think that would be the case with hirez primarily because the direction all their games have. If we look at fortnite and how they managed to make a more interesting experience by adding a building aspect to the standard formula then I think we can expect interesting things like some of the abilities paladin characters have. There's no way they make it a victor only simulator.

Reminder that half her abilities are useless and the only redeemable thing she has is her new gun. The shield is just there to reload her gun with 4 bullets quickly and ***maybe*** block an attack or two before it walks off into the distance.

And even then, 500 dps with no burst or aoe is pretty bad.

She's a bully, a flank tank, her shield is for her own. You don't fucking use it to shield people, you use for yourself unless people are retreating to you.

All other shields are either stationary or they move along with the character as they channel it. You're forced to walk around Fernando's shield, and Barik's is stationary, so you don't have to worry about it walking away from you. And even if you try to argue Barik's is shit, at least it covers his entire hitbox (and then some).

Flanks actually have a way to get out of a bad situation. Ash? She has Shoulder Bash. A whole second of start up and a 17 second cooldown. It's practically useless in most situations.
