Elite Dangerous v2.4 is online with improvements to base game and dlc content. Frontier announced a new expansion called "Beyond" and will offer it for free to everyone who bought horizon. Season three will focus on refining core gameplay and introducing new content.
Reminder to be a gud goy and buy ships, you do care about SC right??
Easton Price
>edg in the OP Nice. SCfags have short memories. I'm not sure why they think CIG is going to pick up the pace of releases after so many times of not doing so.
Nathaniel Williams
I legit stopped caring to read my newsletters several months ago and have no idea what the fuck is going on besides Mandalore isn't sure when to review E:D Why don't we make it a SCG/EDG/X4F general? What the fuck is happenin with X lately?
Ryder Rodriguez
It's splitfag being butthurt that he got beat to the punch. Report and ignore.
Anthony Clark
Delta patcher, being adamantly adherent to short updates which is why they pushed 3.0 to Live at the end of the year even though it wasn't 100% ready, 3.0 being the foundation for the actual alpha, etc.
Charles Robinson
quarterly updates for big patches, not short updates*
Nathaniel Brown
I just copy/pasted an old thread, probably should have turned off Veeky Forums X ya...
Landon Gomez
>available:2018
Levi Hughes
*duel of the fates plays*
Nolan Roberts
updated the pastebin and removed the embeds edition
Jonathan Collins
Will squardron 42 music be included in the digital soundtrack?
Mason Taylor
>I have never seen an actual Stockholm Syndrome in such a massive scale
Has this person never seen the entire continent of Europe?
Evan Cook

Zachary Perez
>being this butthurt fuck off splitfag.
Aiden Bell
I don't see why not. I like that guy's stuff more than Pedro's.
Brayden Torres
This. Fuck off splitfag.
Elijah Sanders
>fucks up op while hurrying to battle a boogeyman the only one who seems butthurt here is you
Jonathan James
I'm not even the OP you fucking retard. edg is a part of this thread and the reason it has survived this long. ED was here before you and will still be here after you are gone, not because it's a great game, but because Braben got a space game out during a time when there wasn't one worth playing.
Nathaniel Sullivan
>spending new year's posting about something you don't like on a mongolian basked weaving exchange Sad!
Colton Turner
>Braben got a space game out during a time when there wasn't one worth playing just like everyone who has made a space game before him and just like everyone who will make a space game after him
Jack White
who are you to decide what makes a persons new years eve sad, you vile normie
Jaxson Walker
There is nothing else truly multiplayer on the scale of ED or SC or NMS for that matter. That's why X, Hellion, HotDS, Rebel Galaxy, Into the Stars, and tons of others don't make the cut and why this has been a strictly dual general that never expanded, except that week or so when everyone was playing STO, but that passed.
Ian Gomez
You have to admit that having the mean to update the game without downloading every single files is a notable improvement.
Most players simply don't know how much work goes into a game, worse, they believe that AAA game follow the rules of Early-Access and that a game 50% complete mean 100% playable but with less features.
If game like GTA V had a tech demo release like SC it would be just as bad, player glitching out of the ground trying to get into a car, car impact sending the player across the map, stuff like that.
Dominic Gomez
Holy shit, fix the combat already. >Aurora on Aurora fight >Outmaneuvering him but it's taking forever to take his shields down >Finally start doing hull damage >Overshoot the throttle and lose track of him for like 4 seconds >Fucker has full shields again >Just say fuck it and afterburner away
Christopher Long
is the balance changed from AC?
Xavier Williams
The farther they get along in development, the faster development is going to get. The 3.X patches will be focused on adding the rest of the gameplay mechanics and features. After that, all that is left is generating content (which they can do astonishingly quick now, the only reason they aren't is because devs are allocated to many higher priority tasks), making the rest of the ships flyable, and optimization. By the end of 2018 or sometime in 2019 the pace of development should start noticeably picking up.
Juan Powell
I believe the thread is mostly people that understand that. Most of the legit criticism has nothing to do with the game, it's progress, delays, design choices, or anything after the load screen. It's mostly the marketing, sales, and PR wing that gets the most heat. Are you using your gimbals and constantly hitting his shields? Also, if you overshoot in 3.0 with an Aurora, you are going way too fast. Cut your throttle to 50-75% and combo your pitch with the opposite strafe to stay facing as the NPC will overshoot you. Bind spacebrake to a single key if you haven't already because you need it to stop from overshooting. If you can keep your gimbal on him until the shields are down and then finish them off with some longswords on the bottom mount, it will be way easier. If they get the fps fixed, they can take their time with the rest. Until the performance is playable and consistent, I don't really care about new mechanics or content. I wanted a 2.7 with 2.6 gameplay on the new services and back end so it would play well.
Joseph Clark
Different devs can work on different things simultaneously. The people working on the mining profession aren't fixing the network performance. The people building out other star systems aren't working on the mining profession.
Bentley Campbell
nobody's working on shit til jan 8
Ayden White
The point is, there are features that they choose to have sprints and focus on. The content is coming regularly, but the artists work on a different model than the game devs. You can't waterfall game code like art and until CIG focuses on performance and gets the majority of it done, I agree that content should be more forthcoming. Until then, this constant deterioration of the server and shitty client performance has to be at the top of their priority list and nothing else. Advertising a sprint on content at this point would be a call for a refund from me.
Hunter Ortiz
That's irrelevant to what I was saying, but if I have to be technical.... After January 8th when all the devs come back from holiday, then they will be working on different things simultaneously.
Isaiah Watson
Oh yes, that is completely right. We know it is their top priority because they have conducted tests on the server during the PTU with optimizations enabled, and Chris has said a full feature release of the optimizations will come in March. They're still working on it and have a bit more to do.
Justin Ross
Someone is, because they patched the interdiction
Leo Myers
We have at least 2 more weeks with this shitty fucking patch because they surely aren't going to drop one on their first day back. I'm probably way too optimistic to think they would even patch it in two weeks. It better not be fucking March before we see the first patch. I'm not saying they have to fix everything in the first patch, but they can fix a few of the worst gamebreaking things and not leave us with this shit for two more goddamn months.
Noah Martinez
You misunderstand what I meant. They should have a patch fixing little things either daily or once every few days, just like during the PTU. But the patch that introduces the first implementation of most if not all of the netcode fixes is coming in March.
Yeah, I try not to read too deep into what he says, but I also know that the delta patcher alone doesn't mean there is any policy shift from CIG. They could have been pushing updates for the last 2 years but chose not to. I'm not completely convinced they are going to be as forthcoming with the patches as they have led us to believe. CIG has said nothing about updates more often than quarterly.
Adrian Robinson
How do you stop a quantum jump midjump?
Bentley Lee
o just hold B again
Mason Reyes
>Chris has said a full feature release of the optimizations will come in March
No, the FIRST PASS is in March, i.e a completely broken cobbled together shit build as always
Christian Baker
Me neither, but the fact that they pushed out 3.0 before Christmas when it wasn't ready for live, just to keep to their new schedule of quarterly updates, shows that they are trying to be committed to that schedule. I'd argue they're now committed to dates more so now than ever. And with the delta patcher and the foundation for the game now in 3.0, I'm willing to believe it. This isn't the Star Marine situation where we just have their word and nothing else. Also, each quarterly update isn't guaranteeing anything specific, so they aren't rushing out a planet or a profession out the door to meet a certain deadline. It's just to push out anything major that's ready for release.
Luis Reyes
Yea, I'd mixed up full feature release with first pass. How can the netcode optimizations make the build even more broken though? They either work and fps is better or they don't and fps is the same.
Aaron Ortiz
The foundation of the game is the systems and netcode, half of which aren't anywhere to be seen
Nicholas Hall
My point was that waiting until March for them to fix the worst offenses in the game right now that don't involve the netcode optimization is bullshit. They are going to play this "wait and see what we got for you" bullshit, get delayed, and we will be here discussing 3.1 that just made it out before Christmas as a broken mess.
Juan Long
In the same way a PTU build can produce unexpected results when released to 2 million different hardware configurations
Jackson Garcia
You just don't understand software development.
Joseph Edwards
>precision first landing feels good
Elijah Rodriguez
But if the optimizations aren't ready right now, what would you have them do? Release it now to no effect? Our only option is to wait until they're ready. This is not something they can rush out.
Nicholas Sanders
It's not a wait and see. It's not like it's ready and they're just sitting on their thumbs waiting for the best time to release it to build up hype. If that were the case they would've released it with 3.0. If the optimizations are ready to be released before March, I'm sure they'll release them. I think Chris is saying March because he knows they will be working on it right up until then. And if it's not ready by March, they'll delay it or push out any parts of the optimizations that work saving the rest for when they're ready.
Joshua Nguyen
>This is not something they can rush out. why not, they've been rushing out broken shit for years
Ryan Brooks
Common sense. It's one thing to release broken gameplay and content. But there is no point to releasing optimizations aimed at improving fps if they don't do anything or make things worse.
Jaxson Torres
Where is Hickes Research and Bountiful Harvest?
Charles Lopez
>Hickes Research Cellin >Bountiful Harvest Daymar
Nathan Ross
>what would you have them do? Fix the bugs not related to the network optimizations. Their bug list is in the thousands, it's not like there is nothing they can fix that isn't netcode.
Jose Myers
They are. Did you see their near daily updates during the PTU? The amount of changes and fixes in each patch was decently large. A significant amount got fixed in week of multiple patches. No reason to think this won't continue during Live. I think Chris even said this would continue in that Spectrum thread.
Haven't looked into the news on Star Citizen in a while, is it still a scam?
Adrian Morris
It's always been a scam
Grayson Garcia
yes now go have 6-12 hours of 7/10 fun if you really enjoy the tactile feeling of everything and then check in again in a year
Cooper Fisher
what do i delete to reset any configurations? every game i'm in now has no green marker for designated landing bay, and other persistent bugs
Camden Price
>Different devs can work on different things simultaneously High level developers are specialized, and different things don't always/often require interchangeable skills. Mining is basic coding (IMO) but require to understand game design. Network however is very hard coding and ask to understand network infrastructure perfectly.
A specialist for one is not (always) capable of working on the other, let alone achieve the miracles required for the game.
Happy new year by the way.
William Barnes
I'm sooooo going to do crazy precise landing for the sake of not walking.
Hunter Morgan
Happy New Year to all cultists and forumdads. Let's hope our space games become a little bit better in 2018.
Jackson Young
Happy new year! Let's hope 2018 is an even better year for SC's development.
Henry Price
E:D landing GUI and better keyboard sensitivity when?
Christopher Ramirez
Not playing until release but GODDAMN what a nice ship design.
Any plans to make the thrusters move again? They don't even point down when landing gears are out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thomas Collins
No, and I don't think they're supposed to anymore. A lot of the ships have fixed rear facing engines, and they use their thrusters to be able to land softly.
Liam Hernandez
it was retarded so they got rid of it
Angel Bennett
I think they're still gonna rotate for VTOL once they get that all worked out. Right now VTOL thrusters do nothing, and it's just handled by your lower maneuvering thrusters going into overdrive.
So not currently implemented but they probably plan to have them rotate when you deploy or retract your landing gear.
Dominic Thompson
Remember, folks, even if you want to be fashionable, do so INSIDE the airlock.

wasn't there supposed to be some dank parallax mapping?
Alexander Gutierrez
If you don't know you don't deserve to know, citizen.
Joseph Jenkins
it looks like incase or something
Asher Torres
Its from his pretty long halfling smut webcomic
Christian Thompson
It's inCase and I'm pretty sure it's from his goblin comic.
Logan Myers
So does the Sand Nomad helmet not have a flashlight? I've encountered the missing flashlight glitch a few times but I've been able to fix it with other helmets. But for some reason, not with the Sand Nomad one. And come to think of it I've never seen a flashlight turned on with that helmet nor do I see it on the model.
Michael Lewis
You don't need a flashlight in the desert, silly. Its really bright
Hudson Green
I'm not wearing that armor only on Daymar user, I'd like to use it everywhere. Plus, there's a thing called night time that even deserts have.
Adrian King
preposterous
Noah Jackson
Why can't he only put cute traps and futas in that comic
Luis James

Out of curiosity, how many of you getting under 25 FPS are running the game off an SSD, and how many people not on an SSD are getting 25+ FPS?
