Is is literally IMPOSSIBLE to beat the Bound Hero Battle and most lv. 40 maps with my team?

Lv. 40 Bike, Lv. 40 W. Tharja, Lv. 40 Fjorm, Lv. 40 Ike. All of them have their max default skills equipped. I've been trying for days to beat the bound hero thing and no matter what strategy it's always futile. Same goes for the other lv. 40 maps. So I think I hit the wall of f2p and have to pay for orbs to win now.

personal preference i guess but ill take a 5* +0 over a 4*+10 any day since it allows me to power them up later if ive ever got the feathers and desire. especially olivia and frederick, theyre both great units
