Yes they have. There were tons of socialist communities throughout the U.S. during the early 19th century. They all failed. Their failure provoked Marx and Engels to develop a "scientific" theory of socialism which has also proven to be wrong.

Democratic Socialism is objectively the best known political ideology on the planet.

You can't have a good economy in the information age unless you develop your human capital, and you can't develop human capital without them programs.

It's just a shame they create the ideal system and then ruin it with shitskins. I guess they just had it too good for too long and forgot what the real world was like.

The Diggers were proto-marxists, and they did perfectly well until they were all killed. The 19th century US Socialist communes fell apart due to ideological disputes and their basic attempt to apply Marxism within a Capitalist state. Of course they were doomed to fail.

Democratic Socialism can't work without a decent education system.
The issue with leftist movements is that they require their citizens to practically be philosophers. Not even Rome was able to accomplish that.
