Not if you're a skilled laborer. Most journeyman tradesman make between 30 and 40 dollars an hour. Specialized people like crane operators usually make six figures. Even flaggers (the people who hold signs telling when to stop during construction) usually make at least 20 dollars an hours. Those figures might vary somewhat in different parts of the country, but skilled work always pays a decent living wage. The only people who get paid shit are unskilled laborers, or people who bought into the "unions are bad" mentality and work for shitty employers who they let treat them like crap.
