looks like bukkehorn

Sadly, it's not.
It's not an instrument of any kind

It is the broken horn of Gondor.

Well it appears to be some sort of ornated horn because it has a mouthpiece for blowing. Also the structure and how it's carried implies that it is some sort of instrument. It might be related to olympic games or it might be even horn used in war for telling commands to man at arms.

Different cultures use horns for different things. If its not an instrument, then in the Caucasus they are often used a ceremonial drinking horns. You drink sweet wine out of them. Alternatively I've seen them used as gun powder flasks, but I would probably say thats a drinking horn.

Lol no it's definitely not a drinking horn. Why would anyone drink mead or wine trough a metallic mouthpiece?

it's a bong

I obviously meant the other end. I dont know about you, but im only seeing a picture of this thing. The "mouthpeice" looks pretty shitty and I cant see the opening so there might not be one. Given that the guy said it wasnt an instrument I assumed that was just an ornamental tip.

Powderhorn maybe? You poor blackpowder into the horn so you can easily apply it to your musket/rifle/arquebuss.

Why wouldn't they? Most of the examples here have metallic mouthpieces

Trust me, i own many horns and when i see one, i recognize one.

The 'moutpiece' has no hole in it, so I doubt that

>The 'moutpiece' has no hole in it, so I doubt that

Prove it. Post more pictures. I can bet my left testicle that it has.

well, it might be just a fake wallhanger.

ill take that bet. I'll put in my left testicle for the contrary.

Your unlucky day

*lucky

Did you hammer it down just because of the sake of argument?

just chop your ball off already and make it easier for all of us.

I was correct!

It is neither a drinking or sounding horn. Its a traditional Nordic piece of decor to bring prosperity and fertility to a house.

Pic related. My house horn.

Yup. Slavs had them too. I would not drink from it though, for the definite use of lead solder.

WHERE IS THE TESTICLE user?
YOU MADE A BET BOY.
