Can someone please explain how the locks work? I built my prison and made all the doors unlocked, but my prisoners will not go through them. Do you really have to have a colonist escort them through every door?

RJW adds:

- Genitals

It adds bionic enhancement to all of the above, including hydraulic anuses. You may go "why would I want" but let's be real, those are body parts colonists actually should have. It matters because when you are fighting a bear, instead of the bear randomly gutting your liver out, he may now bit your dick off.
You can survive without a penis, but you can't survive without a liver. It adds a couple extra HP to your colonists, so if you're tired of getting your fingers chopped off, add a bit more limbs into the mix like your breast and pussy.

-Rape mechanic
It adds the ebin Rape mechanic. It can be adjusted however you want in the mod's settings. Raiders will always rape fallen colonists because they are soviet Russia tier assholes.
Animals will randomly rape. This is a good thing because while the animal is raping your colonist you can shoot the manhunter megafauna without being counter attacked, at the risk of killing the colonist getting raped.

-STD
It adds new infections into the game, some are treatable and they go away, some like HIV do not. Great addition IMO.

-WHORE
It adds a new job, you can select a colonist and assign him or her to whore itself for money while you have visitors.

-PAWN
It adds a nymph, new pawn type character, you can disable it in the mod settings. The nymph wants sex, can shoot, can socialize, and can clean. She can't do anything else.

-PREGNANCY
It adds babies that do nothing for 2 years, then walk around at the age of 2, become functional at the age of 10.

Nothing else. I honestly believe it adds realism into the game if you want it to be like that, or you can go all out and make Rapeworld instead. It all depends on the mod settings you prefer. Give it a go in a new colony? It is only as disruptive as you want it to be.

There's no such thing as a lock in the game. Prisoners can only move through doors, that are kept open.

I have seen some folks talk about it but never tried it myself.

It's a mod. But the mod page really doesn't say much on the matter. Just says doors that are set to unlock let's anyone pass through, yet my prisoners will not pass through unlocked doors.

Why can't the pawns use concurrent data when doing tasks? Their tasks don't update once they start performing them, which leads to all sorts of inefficiencies and frustrations. Just two tasks that require tedious micromanagement because of this flaw:
Hunting:
>Hunter doesn't go to the animal, hunter goes to max shooting range of where animal was when hunting task starts, then adjusts

Animal tamers:
>When drafted, animals don't go to the tamer, but the spot where the tamer was when first drafted, then adjusts
>Cue the dumb animals running onto the battlefield with outdated positioning data, causing all sorts of headaches

What is "chronological age"?

There's vanilla button on the door "keep open". Obviously, author could not know anything about other mods doings.

There's no FTL in Rimworld lore, people are put to sleep in cryosleep caskets and woken when they arrive close to their destination or there's an emergency. That's why people can live for centuries while technically still having normal biological age.

Biological age is the age of a colonist body.
Chronological age is their real age.
For instance, a 30 biological with 150 chronological means the pawn spent 120 years in stasis

Because Toady is a lazy fuck that decided to make the entire game run on a single core processor.
Their actions don't get constantly updated because it would be too heavy on the single processor, so he made it based on what you described so your computer only needs to check once the creature arrives at the destination.

yes. it's a number that can safely be ignored, biological age is the only thing that matters.

Though in Toadster's game hunters do update their path based on the target position. And while being an inefficient bughive on its own, it does handle pathing of about a hundred of entities in a three-dimensional maze on the same computer, that gets bogged down by few dozen pawns of rimworld.

How can I add a rival for my character im prepare carefully? I would like to have a rival from a different faction on my starting colonists

i can't believe i'm actually forced to make a caravan, travel to another tile and make a mining base. all in the hopes of finding some uranium to make a ship because it needs a shitton for advanced components.

You can find Uranium using Deep Drills I think.

I did that for components, nothing shameful about it, my nigga.

exhausted the one node the game gave me, branchmined in search of ore as well to no avail. haven't gotten trading caravans in a long while and tradeships never have any uranium or furniture made of it available.

it always bugs out if you save loadouts but if you quit back to map and then load the loadout it should work

they are alright but I feel like they add spam events that force a ton of them on you
