>Do people actually like Honest Hearts? What's so great about it? Joshua Graham, Colt 1911s, and the Cave Father stories I think.
The general plotline is a bit meh.
But then I am a turbopleb who thinks Old World Blues is the best of the DLCs. Once you look under the DUDE SCIENCE LMAO veneer of the DLC there is some seriously dark shit going on. After that I would say Lonesome Road (atmospheric, but Ulysses' grudge was retarded so I couldn't get into it), Dead Money (fantastic in every regard EXCEPT that it completely de-protagonised me by STEALING ALL MY FUCKING SHIT GOD DAMN I'M STILL MAD) and then Honest Hearts.

(Once more because new thread) I feel indifferent about Power Armor in FO4.
Power Armor and the fitting training for it used to be this reward of a pretty difficult questline that made you feel like you really fucking earned it. FO4 throws the shit at you like its Stimpaks. And Fusion Cores aren't that difficult to come by either.
For me, the best way to have handled it would be like that. You actually get that Power Armor in Concord, but in the fight with the Deathclaw it breaks into an almost unrepairable state. Preston tells you about Diamond City and a store specialised in repairing pre-war machines. You go there, they have the spare parts but you need to go on a quest to find some bullshit item that the store needs or you pay a hefty sum of caps (10k or so). And when you get that shit, you can go back and repair that armor that stands at your Red Rocket / Sanctuary. There are barely any other Power Armor frames, excet for like when you side with the Brotherhood or at the end of other more or less difficult quests.
That way Power Armor still feels like a reward.
>you must wait 5 minutes to post the same picture again Fuck you hiroshimoot and your shitty new captcha
Jeremiah Murphy
The lack of PA training as a perk in FO4 never bothered me. Arguably making PA a reward for like the third thing you do in the game (Get out of the Vault, meet Dogmeat, do Concord) was a bad choice.
The Sole Survivor is pre-war military and apparently a real badass if male so PA training can be assumed there. Makes less sense with a female SS, admittedly.
Brody Taylor
She has really long hair
Adam Russell
>pa training >it only existed in 3 and NV to keep you from being too overpowered(even though PA wasn't as good as in 1 2 or 4)
Julian Bailey
Those aren't really complaints about the gameplay mechanics of power armor though, but you're on point about it being too common and easy to obtain which really cheapens it. Not needing training makes sense for the male protagonist at least since he was in the army, but not so much for the female one.
Logan Wood
Nora was originally military too, but it was changed for some bizarre reason. Here's a mod that restores her lines.
are you summoning the guy that wanted to play 'mechanic' with curie?
Brody Sanders
Would have made way more sense than lawyer, particularly for them meeting and getting married in the first place.
Anthony Sanders
>open steam >fallout 4 is updating >Nothing new on the CC >500 mb of nothing that broke f4se
fun times
Cameron Martin
PA training was never a thing before Fo3. Literally two games in the entire main series require it, and it is inconsistent enough to not be worth the lore discussions.
Kevin Reed
WTF. Who even thought that nora-lawyer was good idea?
Mason Cooper
emil same with voiced protag and dialogue wheel

why are people saying this is a Hellfire update?
Luis Scott
I haven't played the first two games but could you even get PA before meeting the Brotherhood?
Dylan Rodriguez
Dead Money - 5/10 gameplay, 9/10 story Ol' Dirty Blues - solid 8/10 Honest Hearts - 4/10 gameplay, 5/10 story, 7/10 mummyman Railroad - 7/10 tunneler deathclaw rape orgy, 7/10 gameplay, 4/10 story
It's interesting, I hated DM until dat ending, loved OWB both times through, liked HH the first time then hated it the second after I paid more attention to it, and LR was a fucking nightmare. The Ulysses payoff will forever be disappointing.
Zachary Butler
Fuck, new thread while I was posting.
Is there a mod that removes the main quest about Shaun without crashing the game too much? I know that certain events are semi mandatory, such as the fight with kellogg. it's just that starting as a father or a mother is a bit annoying.
Xavier Collins
you could steal a part from their bunker and in 2 there was some shit where at level 1/2 if you were lucky enough you could get enclave armor from navarro as long as you avoided the deathsquads and passed checks
Anthony Collins
They always release the update a day before. If it's broke F4SE, it's added a new feature that wasn't in the game prior. I know 100% that Skibadaa is releasing more skins for other gear, so it could potentially be changes to Combat Armor or Power Armor skins so you can change the designs and have specific buffs like Titanium plating.
Liam Green
I like Fallout 3. Fornicate thou!
Zachary Miller
I liked Dead Money for what Chris was trying to do: a survival horror. Implementation was terrible , but developers should always remember that with dlcs they could try a lot of different things they couldn't've made in vanilla
So it seems from a narrative perspective you were always meant to get trained in how to use it and the perk is a mechanical reflection of that then.
Not seeing the issue here.
Hudson Ward
It wouldn't even be so bad if it had some kind of actual gameplay effect. Like say Nora actually having to be trained in the use of weapons and armor unlike her husband, some difference in the intro say -- anything. Instead it's a throwaway bit of backstory that convolutes things and creates a bunch of questions.
Angel Garcia
Pitt could've been great. I also wonder why they made two dlcs about shooting for fallout 3, game with terrible fps mechanics, and made 3 dlcs about settlements in fallout 4, game with decent fps mechanics and terrible settlement mechanics
Adam Myers
I love OWB but always end up doing it when I'm over lvl 30 and get fucked by the bulletsponges >tfw lobotomites can tank an Anti-Materiel rifle crit to the head Scary shit dude
Samuel Perry
there is no training, once you have it in your inventory, you can wear it like any other apparel. people would bitch about muh sexism if nate had better starting weapon stats. they can't into they are brainless
Jose Butler
into what
Zachary Cook
I have another solution.
Power Armor training becomes either part of a quest or a trait you can pick at the start of the game.
This allows for maximum roleplaying capacity.
Kevin Carter
Shouldn't the cure have been made by the time that Fallout 4 takes place? Ashur said that if Marie stayed with him and his wife then it would take about a decade
Ryan Peterson
>high level roboscorps OWB was my Viet Nam as a stealth/snipey guy
Kevin Bailey
Why are you posting twongos in /fog/?
Adrian Hughes
>high level OW is full of literal bullet sponges >high level HH is full of quick deaths from across the map because whitelegs get end game stuff
Aaron Garcia
user, is right. People would have gone up in flames if they had gender-segregated starting skills to make the male a combat badass in a game predominantly about killing things and taking their shit while the woman is good at social stuff and that hardly ever comes up. I can still remember the REEE from some sectors because the two main characters were protrayed as cis hetero.
FWIW I can fully understand the spazzing over the male=combat, female=non-combat thing because of the focus of the game. Playing female resulting in being gimped for what the whole thing is about would give me the shits too.
Plus it's a sandbox game, people were already reacting negatively because they couldn't headcanon every aspect of their character's backstory.
Josiah Howard
Because its always Twingo time.
Jose Rodriguez
Makes me wonder why people pretend being a stealth sniper is "the shit" or even fun when the real OP garbage rock out with your cockout build is melee.

Definitely The fact that you can disarm with your swings just shits on half of the enemies in the game The only thing that really threatened me on my last melee playthrough were deathclaws, but I had a grenade launcher for shit like that
David Carter
soo. i just closed my game and steam suddenly started downloading a 500mb patch

it's fine to have a main quest, but they simply had to provide an initial choice: Do you want to start the "main quest" (Emil story) or "Do you want to make an alternative start with your headcanon?
It's so easy, I do not even understand why they did not think about it.

nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18946/ >Full version: makes over 800 dialogue edits with voice and lip sync so you don't have to play as the "concerned parent" character, replacing those with voiced and lip-synced lines from the rest of the game (so it's the original voice actors). The dialogue lines vary depending on which start path you choose. I'm still on a version that's 9 months old and haven't had any issues so far.
Aiden Robinson
How long does the f4se team usually take to update? Are they on the ball or am I going to be sitting on my hands for a bit?
Probably arcade cabinet Unless it adds new pip-boy games though, who cares
Matthew Ward
reminder that something can be an esm and still only have a tiny amount of content, if it's even one over the limit. It's probably just the jacket and a small dungeon to get it.
Themed Arcade Cabinets for every game actually sounds pretty neat
Cameron Scott
>a small dungeon to get it Please, it'll get dumped in your inventory upon loading a save.

Used to usually be same-day because afaik, the script extender devs used to get early access to updates and a certain amount of official support from Bethesda. At one point Bethesda decided to start being niggers and stopped doing all of that, so now it usually takes a couple days or so.
Jeremiah Parker
So a lot of you voted for Texas/Loiusiana and Midwest. I'm interested to know why. Is it because you want Chris Avellone's Fallout: New Orleans or for other reasons? Where in Midwest would you like to see Fallout? Detroit, Chicago, somewhere else? I also see that several people voted for Alaska even though there were 0 votes yesterday. What would you want to see in Fallout set in Alaska? I'm generally curious to hear other opinions as well
Jace Mitchell
I want to return to Chicago because we get to find out what happened to the Midwestern chapter, there are still present Enclave outposts (whether they've disintegrated or not), and as of NV we know the Legion is also operating there. All the ingredients for a good story and faction war are there. But this is Bethesda of course, so expecting good is setting yourself up for disappointment.
Austin Adams
If they put far harbor guys in charge it might be decent
James Flores
Is it possible to ask Obsidian to do another Fallout with the F4 asset?
