Post when you Bought /EFT/

I bought EOD March 2016

Daily reminder that fastfort faggotry is cancer that is killing EFT

>reset profile for upgrade
>hatchet run factory just for some quick levels
>very first run I get a fort from a scav and a tricked out SKS with a scope and a silencer that the scav fucked up
>next run get a tricked out vepr and a pilgrim from hatcheting a dude in the head

lmao @ bringing gear in to raids

>gunfire sounds from directly behind you, duck around corner, it continues and you die cause you were probably getting shot from some other angle you couldnt tell cause of the unreliable audio direction

TARKOVVV!!!

Standard then EOD soon after. Some time around new year with that sweet discount. Hard to believe its almost been a month now

>start looting boxes
>not only half the map knows exactly where you are, but you can clearly hear footsteps in your right ear behind the wall
>it's just what looting sounds like

>loot PC
>sounds like you are violently shaking a box of empty vodka bottles

>use headphones
>everything sounds like someone plugged my ears with crumbled newspapers

And my friend keeps praising the sound design.

Standard edition player here.

Considering selling one of my 3 Forts because I have never used any of them and they just take up so much room. I also have like 20 gold chains so I don't know why I even hoard them.

>walk on literally any surface
>elephant starts stomping around alerting everyone within 5 miles because devs are apparently 500 pounds and think that's what walking normally sounds like

Why do hatchet users continue to smack people they already killed?
It just alerts others to how they are a retarded hatchling free kill.

to let a trained chimp gear risker come kill them so they can continue making far more money per hour than you

are there discounts for upgrades often?

Is spawning customs boilers, running gas station safe then dorm 114 safe the easiest way to make money or can I get better?

Why not wear it till you lose it?

If you need money yes. Don't forget the registers. If you need rare guns the marked room is pretty good.

Does anyone else get more annoyed when they get killed by silenced gunfire?
Maybe cause i associate it with fortfags but I always hate the guy somewhat more if a silenced weapon was used, despite using em myself sometimes.

I just got the game. Is there a place you guys would recommend that I can go to read up?

Could anyone post the ''Types of tarkov players'' picture?

How much of a dumpster fire is this game? I keep reading that there's stupid shit but it's been unclear whether it actually makes the game bad

What stupid shit are you reading?

>sniper skav completely misses 6 times
>gets a headshot on the 7th ending my raid

Well, that ended abruptly

Read the maps. Thats the most daunting aspect of the game as a beginner.

something something limited stash size p2w something something broken AI

look i just got a new GPU and i want to play a shooter that isn't awful and i was wondering if anything good can result from putting money into a russian early access game

Well I can easily say that the game isn't p2w in any way. Sure, if you pay for the EOD you get more stash space and the better container but that doesn't give you an actual advantage over other players, it's just ease of life. However, devs confirmed that all players will be able to upgrade your stash ingame in future patches, and you can easily get bigger containers just by playing the game. As for the AI, I didn't play the game enough to be able to confidently say, but they definitelly are dangerous. If you still have doubts, open beta launches sometime this or next month so you can always wait.

shit netcode
shit performance
shit balance
shit devs
shit maps

As for this post, I agree that that netcode is shit, but it's an issue devs are aware of.

>open beta launches sometime this or next month so you can always wait.

oh ok i'll definitely wait then thanks

>open beta
Hope they step up their patch gamÄ™ by then

>/EFT/
>not /eftg/

>open beta launches sometime this or next mont
Anyone got more info on this?

this

>run customs
>hear silenced gunfire
>have nothing on me but a shotty
>see a dead scav
>go prone and check him out
>a fully geared guy with fort and everything walks by thinking i am dead
>pop 3 shotty shots in the legs
>die to a scav headshoting me from somewehre
reeee

I haven't been this stoked on a game since I first played Operation Flashpoint. Bugs and all.

I've been doing hatchet runs on Customs with a Scav Vest and basic backpack. I hit up the warehouse by boilers right away, pretty common I get an AK74U or AK74N probably with ammo, and lots of loot. There's also a van outside with computer parts that I've never been killed while looting. Then I rotate to UN Checkpoint since I have the key, which has another chance of finding a gun, and has ammo inside in case the guns I've found didn't come with any. There's also a small shack past UN checkpoint to your right in the woods that has an ammo box.
I regularly fill up on all my loot and guns before I even start moving towards by the time I finish this, and can kill scavs and players.
I usually do these runs at night when it's less busy, very profitable, and you actually get to shoot people pretty regularly.
The Warehouse with the gun crates also has regular spawns for keys.

>I regularly fill up on all my loot and guns before I even start moving towards by the time I finish this
Meant to just say that this rotation completely fills me up on loot for the rest of the raid.
I also insure Scav vests and backpacks, because people rarely pick those up and it's really cheap to insure them.

>inside Customs gas station
>suddenly hear fast footsteps
>turn to the window
>catch a glimpse of a figure in fast helmet, full gear for like one frame before he is inside the station and fucks my head with a burst, all before I can even turn 20 degrees to check where he is

Now clearly, I'm just too slow. Everyone knows fully geared soldiers can easily break the speed of sound.

Name me a fucking first person shooter which has never been accused of having shit netcode.

Bought standard when CBT started at the end of July last year. Upgraded to EOD a couple months ago.

You are in the right place friend.

Useful stuff

Not him, fucking please.

Peeker advantage is full fucking second.

Whenever you see someone sprinting, they literally warp one meter ahead every few frames.

Unless you are spraying like a motherfucker, you won't kill a sprinting target, because neither you, nor server has any idea where they are.

I won't even bother with shitty hitreg and desynchs, that's a given.

It's a shame, but this game is trash on many levels. From technical to design standpoint devs are way over their head, and while the technical problems will probably get fixed, the design decisions show that the have no idea what they want to do with the game.

I'll give them points for good gunporn, although honestly useless beyond dumping money into it and maps look really good, but without any real thought put into them.

GODDAMNIT BATTLESTATE FIX THE GODDAMN FUCKING DESYNC

PEEKER'S ADVANTAGE IS A FULL FUCKING SECOND, THE AGGRESSOR WILL ALWAYS SEE YOU BEFORE THEY SEE THEM

GODDAMN AM I FUCKING MAD

IT'S TIME TO RUSH B CYKA

who strength 51 here

Where do i get mp-133 besides dead scavs?
I still haven't completed first prapor quest, lol
(i don't want to waste money on buying it from the skier)

just buy them. money is real easy to find, and progress on the quests is paramount for endgame gear.

Are you sure wasting 40k on one quest is a good idea?

40k isn't much after you learn the game. But protip, you can strip those shotguns all the way down and turn in only the receivers, then sell the other parts to regain some of your losses.

40k is 2 level 20 dogtags, yeah it's worth it.

you can find 40k, or far more, on one good hatchet run in factory.

>painstakingly try to complete the Prapor's scav on Customs quest
>find 10 total over the course of two days, absolutely skullfucked by players, no extractions, blow half of my money on gear that barely returns
>all right, fuck it, I guess I'll just take the 3 to 2 Prapor reduction, I don't have nerves for this shit anymore
>go Shore to bounce back up
>game crashed )))))
>can't reconnect, gear is gone

I'm so fucking done. I guess I've got my return in money, but once the useless gunporn and novelty of the game wears off it has fucking nothing to offer but frustration.

Yeah, i already planned to do it.
Kk.
I already did, but i don't know how much money i'll need later, i don't even know prices for weapons and etc

get skier to level 2 and prapor level 2 and you can kit out a basic bitch aks-74u with a picatinny handguard, vertical foregrip, and optic for under 50k roubles. or you can just buy an ak-74n and slap a railmount with integrated optic on it for about 40k.

What traders do i need to get a scope on my sks?

Prapor level 2 for the scope but you need an OP SKS body to mount it, Skier level 2 sells an OP SKS.

if you have a "hunting" sks, you can mount a dovetail optic on it, like the pso 4x

Scope is PSO, right?

I was just mercilessly hunted down and killed by a player with some kit because i got stuck 4 times on pipes and shit. All i have is this stupid fucking hatchet and some guns i'll lose anyway because as soon as i wield anything larger than a Makarov i'll instantly be killed or face a stupid amount of scavs draining my ammo.

The worst part is melee would actually be incredibly good in the factory if it wasn't for the fact that your character seems to be made entirely out of highly magnetic metal and will stick to absolutely every railing and bit of decor at that specific point when you need to get away and save your milk chocolate and shitty Vepr from the heavily armed fast/fort premium assholes. when you actually do manage to get within reach he does that stupid slide when you stop sprinting that prevents you from doing anything other than accepting your fate.

This game looked so fucking brilliant the first 5 minutes playing it. It's like walking up to a villa only to find out there's a crack den inside literally stacked to the ceiling with rotting corpses. Words cannot describe how disappointed i am. Also how the fuck do i get anything beyond Veprs, shotguns of various shapes and sizes and dinky pistols? it feels like there's entirely no point to any of it since the only players i ever see with gear more exotic than scav shit are immune to any kind of fire i can lay down with my arsenal of civilian sporting rifles and the ones who are already dead from the fast/fort deathmatch boogaloo have been looted by higher level players with enormous backpacks filled with the actually good stuff. It's an extremely frustrating experience getting into. How do i get on with the game when i can't actually get better gear?

First off I'd stop playing factory and go learn something more low key like Shore instead.
>he does that stupid slide when you stop sprinting
Go to options and turn on "Hold Shift to spring/hold breath." For some reason the default is toggle, and it causes that shitty skid stop

Also armor works just fine againt hatchets, so it's only good for unarmored pmcs and scavs not wearing a helme

Makarov, 1 to 2 mags, night time, spawn warehouse, hug the right side of the map all the way to the construction site, pop scavs.
Anyone have tips for killing scavs on woods? I can't seem to find any when I want to.

Get guns by leveling traders. Level traders by doing quests.

The movement in this game requires severe adjustment compared to other FPS games. Give it time and you'll get over it.

The most important thing to remember is you will never be in a position where you cannot make more money. Even if you lose all of your guns and all of your money it's still pretty easy to get a bank full of sweet guns.

What inhibits you is your gear fear, not the game. Master your material anxiety, for only then can you become a real operator.

>Anyone have tips for killing scavs on woods? I can't seem to find any when I want to.
Just go at night when they use flashlights.

I'd just leg it for the sawmill. There's always plenty around there. Clean them up with a hatchet or something. Die to a PMC, rinse and repeat.

>Spawn as scav on woods
>Right by the N-E crossroads
>It's also my exit
>Check green plastic boxes
>Tons of mods
>"Oh look a gun"
>It's a fucking VSS
>Grab raifu
>Turn 360 degrees
>Extract
I don't even know what to say about that, except maybe that's I'd like some mags and ammo.

What differences, if there are any, are there between the VSS and ASVAL?

None at the moment, but the real VSS was supposed to shoot a special 9x39 round meant to penetrate through 3A+ armor

08.08.17 Standard

15.10.17 upgrade from Standard Edition to Edge of Darkness Limited Edition

AS Val has a bit higher fire rate IRL because of smaller bolt path
VSS is supposed to be fired in semiauto and has higher accuracy because of hand-picked barrels

EOD in January 2017

This game desperately needs a death recap. I just died to two shots from a Vepr which could've only been headshots. I'll never know though because this game instead thinks you give a fuck about shit like what part of you got hit the least.

lmao @ not wearing a helmet into raids.

If you seriously die to a hatchling in this, kys

Even a CS style damage log would be nice

Yeah nice try faggot I was wearing a Kiver and Fort. I don't mind dying I just want more info on the death.

Was I fucking talking to you, cunt?

No, I wasn't

Is it normal to be utter shit at this game starting off? I feel like most of my PMC raids last less than 10 minutes before I die like a bitch.

>Is it normal to be utter shit at this game starting off?
yes
t. me

Yes. Your gear sucks, your stats suck and your awareness sucks.

Just keep playing, most of it comes naturally. I'd recommend getting the trader tasks done as soon as possible.

Alright, thanks for the advice, and sorry for the bitching. I'm just not used to getting my ass handed to me so much.

Bitching is fine, everyone has to vent some way. I'd recommend ignoring Skier's 1st task until you have a Kiver helmet and a Fort body armour. The quest is timed and finding those items can be difficult for a new player.

For now, focus on learning the maps. You can control your speed and crouch height, but generally only Slowest and Fastest speeds are of any real use. You either want to make no sound at all, or travel as fast as possible.

Im still a bit of a shitter and ive been playing since the new year.
Once you are used to the maps and pmc traffic zones, you then have to learn the intricacies of Tarkov engagements.

a) the game has desync/peekers advantage of at least a second so you have to be aggressive in close quarters or face getting sprayed before you can even react
b) people in heavy armor will resist most small arms fire so its often better to aim for their legs, especially if you're using shotguns/9mm
c) gunfire attracts others around the vicinity so you have to be very careful and patient before looting a body
d) people playing as skavs can spawn in late and almost every place of interest on the map, so dont let your guard down even if you think the area is clear

Plenty more, but point a in particular is very important to know as you will lose every time trying to ambush someone who knows your general vicinity.

EoD December 2015

for prapor's doc delivery quest should i go into factory at day or night?
i'm leaning towards night, but feel like i would just get btfo by some night vision/infrared user

Just go during the day. It took me two tries and on the second I went fully geared. Played it cool and used the underground to creep around to the machine shop and planted it while a firefight was going off on the other side of the office building.

Yes.

Map knowledge or lack of it is a huge factor. Be patient and focus as much as you can on getting trader tasks done.

why is getting trader quests done important? are the iunlocked more expensive guns so much better?

You can buy the AK74N and AKM from Prapor at a late enough stage. Both are good enough to be endgame weapons.

More importantly, the recoil reducing attachments such as the stock pad and foregrips give you a lot more control over what you're aiming at.

You can get some really good shit like mods to fully deck out a gun, item/weapon cases, and good ammo.

...

>spawn as scav
>surrounded by bodies, loot armor, two sweet guns, ammo, etc
>some guy comes around the corner, I know he's coming from there and he one shots me in the head

is this the desync thing? fml

Mostly it's the bags, armor, ammo and gun mods that are available beyond level 1 traders that you'll need to really shine.

Once you get to level 2 prapor (very easy) you can buy AKM's and 74's on tap. Level 2 skier should be a priority for bigger bags, armor and gun mods. the rapist is obviously important for non-shit meds.

Yes, he was already in front of you before you even saw his body come around the corner.
Even if you fired "first" on your end, it wouldnt even register.

Is there a trick to extracting?
I was playing a SCAV on Customs and tried to extract at Crossroads.
There were a bunch of doors but I couldn't get into any of them.
It's getting pretty frustrating that I played all day and when I finally got loot I ended up being MIA cuz I don't know how to extract

Scavs have different extracts than PMCs, read up on the maps that have Scav extracts listed.

>on shoreline
>cross ferry to island
>loot island
>wait for someone else to cross
>they stand still on the ferry
>shoot at them
>without turning around they spray and kill me
Fuck shoreline. It's the best map but it's by far the worst map to actually have to try and play.

double tap O to see what extractions are open to you, if you don't know them, look up the maps.

We need shoreline with twice as many pmcs and half the lag.
Then it will be perfect.

what do with spare marked/factory keys?

Trade to friends.
>no friends
Sell to Fence and watch them be bought in 3 seconds flat by autoclickers.

My trader stats look like this for Prapor, but I don't have access to the level three goods.
Is it broke?

>Try AKM for first time
>spawn west side customs
>all is quiet
>hit office
>too quiet
>go for river
>scav overlooking it
>headshot the mofo 100m out iron sights
>the ruskie had a vepr AKM with four 30 round mags
>tfw proceed to tear through 8 other svacs on my way to 1011 extract using those mags
it was meant to be

Just completely back out of the trader menu and go to some other menus, then come back.

>I just realized that lvl2 Prapor sells a silencer you can slap on the AKM
I felt pretty dumb about that.
