Meet the youngest officer of WW1
Joined the army at 8 when the Austrians killed his parents and siblings while he was out in the field.
Edgy little fella tracked the platoon down and shelled them.

Crazy how we still have people alive who fought in ww2. Sad that they will all be gone soom.

A sergeant is not an officer.

t. Active duty autist

Well, this is certainly a more literal interpretation of dying by the sword.

According to reverse image search it's a murder suicide committed by a Viennese father.

According to the Russian officers who found them, who asked bystanders, it was man (they don't know if it was a husband or father) who shot the women in his family (who did not resist--assisted suicide, I guess would be the word) and then himself when news came that the Russians were coming.

Polish resistance surrendering and soon to be executed.

Are you suggesting the Eastern Front wasn't comfy?

That Hooverville looks cozy as fuck.

You get the fuck out.

This is one of my favorites. I love the Corsair and I love the shades of blue.

Hands down one of the greatest photos ever taken.

French cuirassiers in the very early days of WW1, before realizing that war, war had changed.

Stupid frogs. From 1870 onwards they really lost their shit when it comes to fighting.

Those uniforms are fly as fuck though. Could cop

It's a setup scene. It's taken by finns and some memetastic soviet POW. Finns were quite known for keeping good care for their Pow's

Thats what he said tho.....

This is Private Wojtek (yes the bear). He was found as a cub in Iran by a group of Polish Soldiers. He was officially drafted into the Polish Army, specifically the 22nd Artillery Company as a private. Wojtek helped in the Battle of Monte Cassino by carrying ammo crates and artillery shells, supposedly never dropped a single one. A depiction of a bear carrying an artillery shell became the official emblem of the 22nd Artillery Company. Wojtek also enjoyed smoking (or eating) cigarettes and drinking beer.
