What the fuck, NG+ The One Reborn just charge attacked me when he was at 1% HP. It was a slow charge, but it knocked me down and kept pushing me and pushing me then hit me again as I tried to roll out of the way.

The fight took like 11 minutes because I summoned some noob before it started (I'm playing a twink with 20 STR), and he just died to the vomit in the first 1 minute.
One Reborn is actually pretty cool when he has like 25,000 HP and can seriously damage you. Music is dope too

He's unironically the boss that took me the longest at bl4

Yes, blood rocks are the best use for insight unless you want all the fashion/ lots of blue elixir. You should never have 99 as that prevents you getting more

The League is a dlc added covenant so you should have it. Unless it was added to the base game like Aldia in Scholar.

I don't think there's anything wrong with using references either. However, (poorly) copying a screenshot line for line while showing little understanding of how the creature works is infuriating. Look at how the rib-cage just abruptly stops past the arm, or how tiny the flesh cloak is because the artist somehow didn't see that the black fur in the screenshot was actually part of it.

How hard would it be to look up one of the dozens of gameplay videos of this thing to see what it looks like? This guy just doesn't care.

You can do that, by all means, but one of the attractions of the strength-leaning quality build is its access to most weapons. Try a few skill weapons out, some are fun.

Which triangle is better?

If the 27.2% is being paired with a Waning Cold Abyssal +15 Fire and the Triangle Cold Abyssal is paired with a 24.8%+15 Fire Abyssal, then the latter will get a bit more AR and damage on most attacks. The difference isn't that huge, more % would be better for most charge attacks

Phantasm shell is for a base of 40arc damage, that's not really worth it - especially because a lot of STR weapons cannot be buffed anyway (Amyarm, Boomhammer, etc) Hunter bone has little to no use, the only thing maybe worth the 15ARC is beast roar, but you do plenty of poise damage with STR anyway.

If you're planning on using the Moonlight Sword, 20 end is nice to be able to untricked charged R2 > followup R2 and still have enough stamina to act, and 41 vit isn't too terribly low.

Do you guys think dark souls 3 is harder than bloodborne? I never had problems with the bloodborne difficulty outside of pthu descendant in FRC, but I unironically gave up on nameless king in dark souls 3 when I played it.

Das3 isn't as tight as Bloodborne, it's made in the same engine, I believe, but the combat is nowhere near as tweaked. As a result, combat's messier, looser, you're stuck with rolling instead of quickstepping which just feels far less fluid in getting off successive attacks, plus all the extraneous bullshit of weapon arts which feel like 'we wanna do trick weapons but not put the effort in to constructing one for straight sword #56' so they're just shitty buffs or ebin anime attacks spread out over most weapons, with some unique ones here and there. Bloodborne's tight, tweaked combat allows for a person who get to grips with it far easier and actually really feel like you're mastering melee combat with the various moves you can pull off, that's why it feels 'easier' when in reality it's just more intuitive and fluid with more viable options for attack. Shit hits hard in this game, and it's just as fast, if not often faster, than you are, and you can't block (except for that glitch with the Kirk and Ludwigs, but those aren't viable defenses at all). If Pthumerian Descendant found his way into Lothric, he'd fucking decimate the place.

I have two main points which I've been thinking about a lot recently,
Point one is the Corpse Pile-Recovery Room-Research Hall-Astral Clocktower angle compared to the Grand Cathedral, and my second point is the
"Dream Effect" of certain enemies, like Vicar Amelia and Ludwig, aswell as the Cleric Beast.

Rom is not a unique being. There's more than one, with more than one purpose. Byrgenwerth Rom hides the ritual, Upper Cathedral Ward Rom resurrects, chalices Roms, their purpose is likely forgotten. All lost Pthumerian fuckery.

I have my own theories about the Nightmare through a purely Lovecraftian lense, I'd leak to hear yours.

it's not bad. it's very lighthearted and tries to be humorous, combat is okay but it feels sluggish as hell after playing bloodborne almost exclusively for over a year. decent weapons and the farming isn't as bad as I thought it would be. decent game so far.

the first question that needs to be asked is: Was the Research Hall created in the Nightmare, or is the Research Hall we explore only a mirror of the one that exists in the actual Yharnam? If so, then the entire structure must have existed in the Cathedral Ward in it's form, which isn't that unlikely, however, the Recovery Room that leads to the Research Hall can not be the Grand Cathedrals "main hall" despite all it's similarieties. In my opinion the purpose of the lower structure is quite clear, Hunters who get injured during hunts are taken to the recovery room, the beds are obviously meant to provide good rest, while there are no experimental medical utensils. Hunters who go mad/descend into beasthood are taken into the lower ward where they get put into cells. I highly doubt the Grand Cathedral war every used in this capacity, it's much more likely to be located beneath what is now the Choir Orphanage.

I think the place we explore is simply an older version of the Grand Cathedral, persisting in the Nightmare (in a Lovecraftian Dreamlands way, where old stuff just exists). Over time, in the waking world, as the Church got bigger, extensive renovations were made and repurposing done to the place to make it into the Cathedral we know today. There are incredible similarities, and I remember at one time an user here was convinced that the place see from the balcony leading to Ebrietas in UCW was the recovery room, but it's not, it's the Cathedral, it's Amelia's boss room.
