I like the 3v3 endurance style system, it allows for a lot of strategy
3v3 system, that was pretty uncommon until Mahvel came, also the arcade machines were pretty much anywhere in 3rd world countries, different from SF that was only in rich places
Good looking character designs, something entierly absent out of SF.
I'm really tempted to get into KOFXIV, but I'm really bad at fighting games in general, and it's a small community and I'm shy when it comes to going to discords and stuff

It took off almost entirely due to having edgy character designs that appealed more to teenagers. Its posterboys are wearing leather and jeans with realistic 'fashion' instead of red and white dougis. It has scantily clad women with bouncing tits. It has a guy with a fringe which covers half his face and he cuts himself in the bathroom.
That's basically it.

KOF has better character designs than Street Fighter, on the whole.
Fast pace which is not really a Kof thing unless you go from SF to KoF in which that case it's fast..

KoF isn't really innovative but for a series like it where if "it's not vanilla it's ignored/hate" it tries it's best.

It's a matter of taste. KoF's designs certainly had some kind of impact on some subsection of players, because larger sprites and edgier designs were really the only things you can say the neogeo fighters had going for them over SF2.
The fact that they survived at all means somebody must have liked the characters.
If /fgg/ eu would have /fgg/ us' sniffposting levels in addition to having tolerable knowledge in fighting games, it would be the perfect place
And with the enviromental fog toned down.
And corrected lighting.
And without noticing the low-quality textures on the models.
And ignoring the clipping.
And ignoring some bad animations.
And forgiving the whole clay-like aesthetic.
Aside from those things yeah, the game looks decent.
Don't show that to Sonicfox, he might come back.
Not him, but here in Brazil in the 90's to early 00's there was some field in that regard, because KOF was more animestyle and SF was more cartoonish (yeah i know)

Sooo /FGG/ is there an agreed consensus on the most popular sniff in every game? I know that in Kekken it's Josie even tho I wish it was Maven, and in Jive it's Cammy even tho I wish it was Mika. What about Blu or Goobers and Skullgirls etc?
