How much of an impact do the stat growths make? Will I regret trying to play all vocations in the game without worrying about optimal stat growths? Cause I am interested in both phys and magic classes and don't want to do two playthroughs.

If you're on PS4 and need a loli sorcerer pawn around level 40, hire Wanda. PSN: karnage202

You'll be fine. Optimal stat growths are only for people who've been playing for a long time, probably with multiple playthroughs, so they know exactly what kind of build they want.

Hit the level wall in DDON, feels badf

>Will I regret trying to play all vocations in the game without worrying about optimal stat growths?
yes

>mfw I just defeated Daimon for the first time

>All other pawns died petrified
>Just me and my main in BBI
>Get snagged by the chest-lurking monster
>No healing items

>"It's ok, my pawn will help me"
>come running
>jumps over
>falls in hole
>comes back
>"Hold on, let me charge this long ass attack"
>ded

have to kill those fucking ghosts again

nice. which one did you beat?

The first form. Yes, I'm aware that the island resets and gets harder now. The fight took forever but at least I won.

I know those exact feels, beat him today too. I put myself in ultra-Souls autism mode and kept sprinting and rolling half the time. The other half was using Deathly Arrow (only thing which did noticeable damage). Fun times.

Most of my time was spent running around saving Pawns, pissing Fivefold Flurrys all over the boss and sitting on his head while hacking at him. I always overpack for these things so there was just enough curatives to survive.

The fucking Pawns.

The. Fucking Pawns. I don't know whether to love them or hate them after this. My main pawn was the same old crap, but the healer was damn good. Well, it would have been if they didn't just sit in the spells Daimon would blast out. So then I'd have to go and pick them up, and then have to use my Lord's Tonic or Salubrious Brew 'cause I'd get hit with something.

Fuck, that AI has no sense of survival. But I love those Pawns. And I overpacked with Blast Arrows (tried using them and Tenfold Flurry to stunlock and easy-kill Daimon; it sort of worked, but I'd need waaaay more for it to work), so I was running pretty fucking low on curatives (it was either arrows or healing. I chose wrong).

should have taken conqueror's periapts

I seem to recall picking up the Sorcerer and throwing her across the room as a huge dropkick was coming our way. It was the Ranger who needed the most saving, due to a combination of having most of the aggro and being the most retarded.

The fight still wasn't anywhere near as bad as being air-juggled by Corrupted Pawn wizards who were spamming Maelstrom at us a couple rooms back. Though it was kind of funny seeing the Ranger bouncing off a black tornado like a trampoline.

Depends. If you're some sorry miserable autist who's willing to do what he doesn't likes for the entire game just to be "optimal", then follow guides or whatever, if you're not mentally ill, than just play whatever vocation you want and have as much fun as you can, you'll be fine.

I should've. I really, really should've. And I probably have a dozen in storage as well. Guess I know what I'll be doing for neo-Daimon.

Yeah, fuck Maelstrom. I learnt about it the hard way when fighting the Dark Bishop.

I'm autistic and I play for optimal stats. This is my way of having fun.

the periapts are really cheap so just buy 50 and use them along with blast arrows

>just created my pawn in ddo
>she keeps nodding at me
What did she mean by this?

It means you should go to a riftstone, right click your pawn's name and change the way they behave in various circustamces.

You can do that? wew, this game...

...

That frame of that mod outfit isn't particularly flattering for the goat.

Nonsense, the GOAT looks great in anything.

She looks like a pearshape gone wrong

No dying, now.

>I'm aware that the island resets and gets harder now
Some areas actually feel like they're easier post-daimon. In one area, instead off the 3-4 garms you have giant saurians.

Do you fap to your characters? I know I do.

Just wondering. When you beat Daimon ver. 2, does anything change in BBI? Does he respawn?

He does respawn immediately after deafeating him and leaving the boss room and can be farmed infinitely. BBI will not have any further changes.

does armor really not matter much outside of resists? I'm at level 20 and I've been upgrading my armor anytime I can improve my defense by 10-20 points but it seems like I'm wasting my money

Awh. That's too bad.

>shooting at a mob for a minute or two is challenging

wat

Ignore the minmaxing ranger with bomb arrows.

nah armor isn't very important
obviously you shouldn't be using starting armor, but you don't have to get the best armor possible either.

DDO WEST VERSION WHEN???
FUCK THIS MESSY AND BARELY ACCEPTABLE TRANSLATION

you don't even need the translation. everything can be solved with common sense and the wiki

I'm at the point where I don't mind if we never get ddo over in the west, since it'd mean having to restart without all my precious event loot. Just give me DD 2.

legitmate honest question, why not post dogma threads on /v/ instead?
i guarantee you'll probably net in more people than trying to create a general of people for a game that's about 4 years~ old already.

/v/ can't stay on topic

better than trying to bump a lifeless thread every 30 minutes or so or risk having it fall into the archives imo
more power to you though

it really isn't though, since this thread doesn't devolve into /pol/ shit and porn spam

DRAGON!

How do I not be naked as a warrior in DDON after switching vocations at the start?
Do I just need to play as Fighter for a bit?

just go naked for a while. you'll be fine.

The dragon's dogma threads on /v/ are just people coming in asking why DD is like darksouls. Pretty annoying.

how do you get those cute valentines outfits?

Yes of course, both arisen and pawn.

this

that's part of the reason I haven't bothered playing it. I still have a shred of hope that it'll be brought over here

I couldn't resist. I just wanted to fly into free.

given how dead this thread is, i think capcom is making the appropriate read on the western market in this case. especially since it will just get drowned out by WoW and the million other free mmos out there.

I think DDON is different enough to stand out from the millions of WoW clones, the fact that this thread is on life alert hardly means it would have no appeal in the west

Yes of course, years after release is the prime reading point for seeing community interest. Do you remember all the fucking threads when pc was announced, and up undtil and a while after said release?

according to steamspy the pc version sold 900,000 copies and 770,000 of the people who bought it actually played it. those are pretty good numbers desu

evidently not good enough for capcom

she's checkin u out

i really wish you could see other players in the world in ddon. the game doesn't even feel like a mmo.

I agree. At the very least I'd like interiors like inns, castles, and the mineral springs to be shared

If you're talking about accessories in DDO, we're not aiming for the stats. High-grade accessories come with passive skills. Wasn't the previous event jackpot gave you an accessories with extra jump height skill?

It's not mmo my man. There are no massively in their genre, just multiplayer online.

Because it's not. And thank God. It's just DD but you can play with friends instead of pawns.

I don't see how it's similar to WoW, it's not about guild raids and a full pallet of cooldown icons and whatnot. I mean i get what you're saying, but DDON is not a MMO as already said, now imagine actually similar action oriented MO for up to 4 players cooperative play, where you hunt big monsters with friends or AI partners. Now imagine it's actually also made by Capcom. Now THAT would be a scary prospect for a western release of DDON. Especially if pawns were cute cats or something like that

Dragon's Dogma : World

you sound like a long time abuse victim

WHERE THE FUCK IS DRAGONS DOGMA 2

Is there even any basis to make a dragon's dogma 2? What would the story focus on seeing as in DD, the arisen essentially broke the endless cycle.

He didn't? You can't Godsbane yourself, you already saw Savan tried. Besides, i always assumed Seneschal, given that words meaning, is just an "appointed governor" of his particular plane, not an actual allmighty ruler and creator, they just keep the cycle set by god knows who for god knows what reasons. The entire thing with the Moon, Everfall and why all this and cycle exists is entirely unexplored, as is Ur Dragon. They could also just lead the story sideways like DA does, or cone up with different idea entirely like FF does and just roughly have similar outlines and ideas like Dragon, Rift, Arisen, etc. but it's all another setting/lore/world.
They can do anything it's a fantasy videogame, not a chicken soup.

Savan failed because he was to much a pussy to cut his own head off

is it normal for pawns to sit idly by despite an enemy being close enough for them to shout about the enemy? scather/mitigator
makes it a bit tough to be a ranger since my pawns are useless while I'm plinking away

in progress

challenger is best for ranged pawns.

sorry, guess I should have specified that my pawn is a fighter while I'm a ranger. it also happens with a lot of random pawns I pick up

why does no recommend the knowledge chair? it does the same thing as the elixir and it's free.

exilirs are more accurate and really cheap

>knowledge chair? it does the same thing as the elixir
All knowledge chair does is switch 2nd and 3rd inclination using elixirs you can drive down all undesirable inclinations and max out most desired ones.

Hey /ddg/, I'm going to start my second playthrough soon, what vocation should I go with? I played warrior all the way the first time and was finding it somewhat tedious by the end.

Assassin

4 sorc party

...

strider for maximum crazy

the internet says i shouldn't upgrade sorc pawn skills
please comment

The more upgraded the spells with a sorc, the longer the casting time. A strong enough arisen will have taken out enemies through other means by the time the pawn will have finished casting.
And then your pawn may be distracted while casting, and totally cancel the spell.
That's what I've noticed at least with my sorc pawn. I could be wrong.

it also has to do with spell synching

magick archer since nobody talks about them

do pawns not understand how to cast lower stages of the spell?

not unless you teach them

i am myself playing a sorcerer with my sorcerer pawn.
Does this mean if i go around casting stage 1 a lot the pawn will do this, but then cast stage 2 sometimes also?

in theory, yes

I thought that was an unsubstantiated rumor. I'm pretty sure bestiary knowledge and inclinations are the only things that drive pawns

oh christ I thought murdering pawns sent them back with no rating at all. now I feel bad for all those 3 star ratings I've given without realizing it

Is Death's weak point really the lantern like the wiki says? I've been blast-arrowing him there and he's not going down.

>tfw having to do encounters with death 20 times over because I feel bad about the poor pawn ratings

It was rumored that the lantern was the weak point, but it's more likely that attacks on the lantern are simply connecting with Death's body or is apart of his hitbox. Who knows if there is truly a weak point.

>It was rumored that the lantern was the weak point
Fuck. All those wasted blast arrows. I'll keep finding a way to stun him so I can kill the bastard.

Be forevermore Howaito Doragon!

>shields can block lightning and brontide

Holy shit, I just realized this now. I can't believe it took me so long. I just assumed that attacks coming from above and below weren't blockable with a shield since... that's common sense. But they can. This just changes the game for me.

I dont know, in my experience pawns do learn to jump attack if you jump attack, and dont if you dont

They copy jump attack behavior and retoggling the lantern
