Are you the only one online? You get more FC exp for each action the fewer people that are online with it doubling or somesuch when alone
Also questing is mediocre, do grand company gear turnins, I ranked my FC to 6 in half a day by just having others in my case just one person log off before I turned the gear in

Rush to level 70 and use what ever has highest ilvl. You start getting good item sets at lvl 50 from main quest and class quests so finish it.
