How do I use this ult properly?

Use it as if you are using ice block for your ally but can't cancel it. Make sure whenever you cast it on them they won't immediately die after by hitting them with a perfectly timed heal.

like cocoon, put the support/biggest threat in it during a team fight or a channel
can also be used on chase to allow your team to catch up

Game knowledge isn't an absolute thing. Dia is the top 7%, which means IIRC plat 3 and above is still easily the top 15% of the playerbase. They'll still make mistakes and do stupid things, but they're not the same kind or frequency of mistakes as those made by people in gold, or in silver et cetera.

They do truthfully usually know more about the game than people in lower leagues, or they have mechanical skill that got them that far, or they do things like catch soak, rotate and clear waves which is inconsistent in lower leagues and can generate the pressure to win games almost by itself.

Generally the most impactful thing you can do in shitter leagues is make sure you don't fall behind on soak or get your structures beat up by minions. Your teammates will retardfight at every opportunity and you cant change that, but you might be able to give them the ability to retardfight with an advantage. I highly recommend Zagara and Junkrat, both have strong map rotation and good waveclear, they also contribute decently to teamfights if you're not an idiot.

He only has it in worgen form and I believe is because of thick fur which in Warcraft means tanky

Because both were intended to be close range damage dealers without self sustain, so to compensate for not having tank sized healthpools or self sustain, they were given a bit of mitigation. It also made healing have more value on them because each point of their health was worth more.

Armor isn't meant to be exclusive to tanks, though it's rare to be a non-tank that has both armor and self sustain (Illidan is really the only example, and even then his armor isn't permanent, but linked to singular usually mutually exclusive talents on evasion, sweeping strike and dive) and even then they don't have tank hp / shields.
