You should be rocking enough aff boosting shit to offset the -20% aff.
Weakness Exploit (50%), Maximum Might Lv2/3 (20%/30%) and basic AuL (5%) is enough to offset the penalty and more, that isn't even including aff booster (30%)

You can switch back and forth between axe and sword from almost any attack this time. Take full advantage of that. Everybody likes to do their optimal sword combo but there's just not always. Sometimes you've got to use axe to keep up the chase with the faster movement. Don't be afraid to sheathe and run to the monster either if you need to. It sheathes faster now than it used to.

I'm running WE/MM2/AuL but I though the math said affinity was better. I'm a brainlet so I have no way of calculating it myself

How do I fight Kirin? I can't seem to stagger them, break any of their body parts and they eventually just whittle my supplies down over 30 minutes of fighting.

Not only is this an impressive TA, but his form is impeccable; maintains Sword Mode the entire time, switches frequently between Axe and Sword, and maximizes damage with the incredibly strong Morph attack fro Wild Swings.

This is the way SA is meant to be played, and it is deceptively easier than it looks.

I don't get how anyone can use HBG.

It's slow, it takes forever to get in range, it's impossible to stay in range, sheathing and unsheathing takes too long, and I feel like I'm doing next to no damage most of the time.

I am set up correctly. You need to be in literal bm range for your shots to not do 0 damage and at that point you may as well just not gun at all. The Mind's Eye gunner skill helps a bit but the damage is still very underwhelming. Pierce is just a joke on LBG, spread 1 sucks and spread 2 can't be rapid fired.

I'd switch to HBG if they had buffed spread because that's at least a fun shot type close up.
