Stops auras on elder dragons so they don't do their super moves constantly. Useful on teo especially since you're not getting burned every time you attack it. Nerg stops growing spikes as often too which means less dives.

Is there a way to stop monsters from running without traps or flash pods?

I can only hold two traps at a time and flashbugs don't seem particularly common, it'd be a pain in the dick to have to go on a bunch of expeditions every time I want to hunt a monster.

Don't forget to look into the item box before each hunt!

I play in a private session but join SOSs. The best multiplayer experience I had in this game was when we actually used the "return to camp" functionality as intended and myself and some Japanese stuck together for hunts all afternoon.
