Other than the fact that it's been hyped for over a decade ever since regicide the city was by far one of the worst pieces of content to ever come to rs3. Unironically the best way the osrs team could ever handle its release would be for it to be burned to the ground and be completely worthless, just as a fuck you to rs3. I think in terms of new cities only the retarded menaphos grind bullshit beats it in terms of bad design. You wanna know what a cool city is? Fucking burgh de rott. You build it yourself, it has a great place in the lore, you need to unlock it but it doesn't take that long, it has a great aesthetic.

Maybe if the city was burned to the ground the story writing and lore for the elf questline could go in a direction that isn't complete dogshit, unlike rs3. Have it focus on the elf civil war instea of some seren god guardian cancer. Mahjarrat/god wanking in general killed rs3 lore.

if you have a ge locked behind a quest wall, it wouldn't be as bad as the normal ge

the only reason its so high is because there are so many people. It takes like 10 seconds for a group to kill a rev when it would take 45 seconds to a minute solo.

for one, the game was not f2p so there were hardly any spam bots in-game, just the ones being created via RS3 lobby and PM'ing people

and two, there were a ton of merchanting bots and autotypers

That's partially true, but not to that degree. I spent most of the time there with 1-2 lower levels chased off anyone who got more than ~20% of the kills of any one spawn.
Having the noobs definitely helps, but even solo I would generally kill the highest levelled spawn I camped (dark beast) in 20-30 seconds at worst. With rig/salve(ei)/a cannon set up to double hit, you still do pretty well solo most of the time. If I had to guess, I'd say that at current prices it'd be 3-4m/hr rather than 4-5.
