Yeah, this one was a challenging piece. I mostly write on the spot when the thread words comes up, sometimes I write some stanzas there and come back to them a bit later to edit or finish it. But I did take my time with "pieces".

You're spot on about the confidence thing. And on both meanings: I don't trust in my capacity to properly illustrate my thoughts, and often doubt if the reader will get the meaning with what meager imagery I can conjure. I also wanted this one tho feel more like a diary entry, without going full prose. You're also right about that passage of time bit, I feel like it needs a couple more lines or something (haha, I can't complete it! there are no more pieces!).
