/egg/ - Engineering Games General - Formerly /svgg/

Is Keeping This Alive My Fucking Job Now Edition
Previous jej: The thread is dedicated to all games about building machines and systems out of blocks, in space or otherwise. Also, all these games are ded. Only ded games may join, otherwise they must have their own thread.
Whether or not a game belongs in /egg/ is a case by case matter, however games that would belong in /svgg/, space voxel games general, are automatically considered /egg/

Warbros Serb rides in CLANGhalla eternal, shiny and chrome

Did all of you faggots just stop posting when I went out for a drink or something? Seriously I must be making like 90% of the threads for you now

I've made a few in the past few weeks.
I was busy playing games. Didn't notice us slipping back into a coma.

Busy engineering, sorry.
Brb, more engineering.

minecraft

who the fuck is Fed and why is he invisible

Let's say last thread we reached image limit

>Big Brother

oy vey

How do we die with a new FOTM?

It's shit.

More like FOTW

when you die don't "replace Fed" it froze and reset my character

Are Factorio devs a bunch global warming shills? Why do they portray CO2 as a pollutant?

I had to go to class.

???

??
What do you think you get if you burn coal/wood ??
It's H20 and CO2

and dirt and dust and bits of bug and shit

coal is produced by abiotic mechanisms in the center of the Earth
It is pure hydrocarbons
Same with natural gases

...

you clean the sulfur out of it by washing it

Found a method to somewhat reliably hunt Relay Stations.
>Open map
>Look for red triangles that are pointing straight up
>Mark and investigate
>2/4 times they're Relay Stations you can kill for phat credits.
>1/4 times they're immobile Cargo Ships waiting to be pirated.
>1/4 times it's a static defense emplacement surrounding something of value, like a station.
>Shoot guns
>Put hole in things
>Collect monies
Forgive quality and jump cuts.

fucking savage
maybe this will help if you decide that wasn't uninstall-worthy

platoons work for wot mode

tonk time?

I'm in.

>maybe this will help if you decide that wasn't uninstall-worthy
since I'm not a brainlet I alternate save-files so I lost about 10 minutes playtime reverting to the previous one.

It was weird tho, I was travelling on the higgs speed thing and suddenly that "crew" apeared on the list. When I spawned as him, I was inside the ship but couldn't move. I saved on a new file and reloaded. Everything was there except the char had the starting gear and not mine. Didn't show on bars either

is it just me or is the fatman they use extra fucked in wot mode?

seems fine to me

it's almost persuaded me to build my own tonk for normal matches

Whee, statics and dynamics class. Absolute hell.

>seems fine to me
I'm a tsunami player so having a shell limply flop out of the barrel as if I pushed it out with a passive aggressive fart and do about the expected amount of damage for such a firing state just feels wonky to me. Hell even the 57's fly flatter.

>Face-off is easy, they said
>Just carry your team, they said
>Single-handedly destroy half the enemy team each game
>Still lose each game

really gets the noggin joggin

...

>cuckout
>thought you needed 15 wins to get all the stickers
>you need 29

yeah fuck that, there's no other reward for losing too, fucking tedious as shit and gets boring quick enough

>wot mode
Is there a BBS: Tank Edition mode now? I literally just remodeled my StuG into a tank yesterday when I bought my first fatman.

Are those Vaygr ships? They kinda remind me of Vaygr ships.

Looks like the build took inspiration from them.

fuck this i'm done tinkering i need sleep

please help me engineer away my need to sleep

>not even the right screenshot
god dammit

That's a penis.

>wot mode
a what?

world of tanks
they added an all tank brawl

>engineer away my need to sleep

It's 34.

i mean, you're not wrong

Apparently, I have the dumb today.

Thanks for explaining the blindingly obvious to me.

>GO KILL A RELAY STATION
>but I only have two (2) popguns and two (2) pea shooters
>DO IT FAGGOT
>fiiine
>half an hour of plink plink later, give up and go for a hot dock
>one guy still alive after a broke a radiator and caused overheat
>literally the only damage I've done
>mow him down with my machine gun
>access gunnery control
>0% chance
okay so how do I kill it?

I think if you fail a hack the thing blows up, so just hack it and respawn.

>play the tank mode
>realize I am instinctively angling the hull against incoming fire
Stop that.

Tracks are very tanky so it's not a bad idea.

This is the best balance the game has ever had.

Or I can just wait for the crew to die from overheat, apparently that counts but shooting them doesn't.
Also I can't hack the console for some reason?

Stations can't be hacked, and doesn't have any loot either. You need to kill all the crew for the destruction to count.

Relay stations hate him!
The thing can be killed with the smallest autocannons as long as you take your time and distance. Shoot the bordering reactors to take out chunks of the station. Or instead destroy the least armored capacitor to start a fire and the bedroom on the corner, as this will cook them from inside. If you pick enough dissipators the reactors will stay locked on overheat and the guns will deactivate.

I still do that, too.
Too many hours in WoT.

...

lmao

If you want to get rid of that habit, go and play some Armored Warfare.
Angling there means your thin side armor gets overmatched immediately, and you die rapidly.

Kill everyone inside. Leave. If it doesn't give you the win after you leave, zoom out and if it's still red, you missed a guy inside. If It STILL doesn't give you the credit, and it's grey on the map, it's bugged or you've already killed that relay.

jesus fuck this game

also where do you find blueprints? seems like every BP shop only has the same basic T1 stuff i already have

Pirate cove has some
main quest(s) had some
the grey zone to the north-west had some medium shit
just other independent traders, really

I just so fucking love the sight of the smart launch in WTF. It's the exact same thing that made /egg/spanse missiles so sexy to watch.

I think I may be missilesexual.

There is no such thing as being missilesexual as that is simply the default nature of man.

...

In that case, what's your launch preference? Hot launch, cold launch, special shit like water rams or magnetic accelerators?

ded

All. I have a particular soft spot for MANPADs that are no longer MANP.

>posting worst faction
stop

>tfw you get your shit pushed in by endgame ships and you have to use one of them as an oxygen bank while you make for repairs
I was right outside a Warpgate and I couldn't EVA in or hack any of the enemy ships.

Consider the following.

What the fuck is this physician doing

The pollution value doesn't just represent air pollution, but frankly you don't know shit about air pollution if you think CO2 is the only thing burning coal produces.

>ICBM printers that can go on any terrain or climb mountains
Needs work, buts there.

Why the fuck did that thing have a pair of screws on the front, anyway? I know it's for the bossfight, but it was only ever meant to be driven on an airstrip, that was the whole point of its existence. Then again, it had a machine gun on it for no goddamn reason as well.

...

Can anyone tell me what game this it?

Epace Sngineers

but when i google space engineers it looks nothing like that lol

what is the advantage of a screw over wheels or treads?

lol!

I'm going to assume you were talking about this
I do not know. Driving in a bog? Sand?

Wayward Terran Frontier: Zero Falls

Fuck off back to reeddit.

Not an expert, but they seem like they'd excel at going over softer terrain that tracks and wheels would sink in to and get bogged down. Probably shit at anything it couldn't really dig its threads into like paved roads, though

yeah, yeah
fuck you, too, buddy
I used a funny name last thread
I'm not that clever

thanks!

Wild Titty Fuckers:Zero Fellatio

?

>hurr go collect crystal shards, those scc fighters are no threat
>BAM ONE MISSILE DESTROYS THE WHOLE FRONT HALF OF MY SHIP FROM 3 SCREEN AWAY

Yea ok

Can literally drive over anything anywhere
Slower than treads though, and a good off road wheeled vehicle can drive almost anywhere

Learning to build my own cram cannons in FtD, and I have a question. If I have two different autoloaders connected to the same ammo box or whatever like in pic related, is there any benefit? Or is it just wasting a slot on one of the loaders?

that happened to me, too
some bullshit
then I lost where the fucking station was

Can you not have missiles AND repair drones hooked to one station ?
Seems like its either or

rockets or missiles?
afaik you can
I don't have any missiles yet.
My Boulder had rockets and a repair drone, though. Just had to move the repair drone to the second bridge because it only has one system slot for each bridge by default and the first bridge already had the spinal rocket system.

Oh theres system slots limiting things

yeah on the bridges
they're not very obvious or descriptive

Theres a lot of that
And then there is the clearly unimplemented area with README, where they should have all the old dialogue

Has there been any game that has good ways for creating mechanical systems on a vehicle?

I hear FtD has good ones. Starmade seems to be continually criticized by its fanbase for consistently getting systems function and construction implemented shittily.
I just want to investigate and see about good implementations that have depth aren't the magic sort of "plop down one block that does x" and "to make x better plop down more block"

this x1000
I didn't know about the T button until after I made the 200km trek to the mall.

Yes, that's the one I meant to reply to.

But that's the thing.. ultimately, the Shagohod is a very specialised piece of artillery. It's basically a pair of jet engines bolted to a sturdy enough frame that can also house and fire a medium range ballistic missile, turning it into an /intercontinental/ ballistic missile in the early 60s. It doesn't need a permanent installation, but it does need an airstrip, so the screws are completely superfluous.

So was the chin-mounted machine gun, but whatever.

Psst
get the small vulcan turret blueprint, they shred SCC faggots like fucking paper, they just have kinda shit range

Its say just use some kind of mix of several autismo games systems

>Empyreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeon has pre built weapons that cant be modified at all
>this allows weapons to be properly balanced as you dont have to worry about players making sutpid powerful guns

>games like Starmade and FTD have weapon blocks and several modifying blocks that can be attached to the weapon to create different weapon types and effcts

>combine those two systems and have a full set of weapon blocks and modifying blocks that can be combined, but dont allow the player to just place down as many of certain blocks as they want to get super specific results
>simplify it down so its just more user friendly and doesnt take a player a week to make the perfect turret and then scrap it when it doesnt work out

>have generic weapon block
>comes in small, medium and large size
>what you attach to it determins what it is
>if you want weapon to have long range you attach the long range barrel to it
>if you want it to be high capacity you attach the large magazine block to it
>"I want a powerful laser cannon turret with 3 barrels, so Im going to need to attach some long range laser optic barrels, and the extra large capacitor, and etc, etc, etc"

it sounds alot like Fallouts weapon modding system, but it would work if it just had lots of options for premade shit you just cobble together to make a gun. And then introduce rare variants you get from quests as rewards, or stuff you can loot off NPC/player ships like an autoloader that can reload 10% faster or whatever.
