High INT thread

But Zodiac has no INT...

but high TEC thread sounds weird

Then lets have a high VIT thread instead.

high str thread instead its always tec or vit

holy fuck firmware modding a 3DS sounds like an absolute nightmare
I just want to play an undub but this guide requires like 5 different pieces of software and has like 60 steps and it requires two separate 3DSes and a special flash cart?

Fortress Fortress Forte Forte Fortress!

You can use either 2 3DSes OR a flash cart
If you aren't on the latest version you have more options

How forte is fortress?

I thought I was being memed but since the last 3ds etrian game isn't 3U or 6 I gotta wonder if we really will see basically all the classes in 1 game. Maybe like having 1 main skill tree for the role i.e alchemists/zodiacs/runemasters/warlocks all having the same main tree but specialising in different skills. So like a Magic Attacker class with a Zodiac specialty sub class if you catch my drift.

I highly doubt it.
I think all of the portraits and classes will be new (to an extent)

Teach is so going to make a comeback

Every class gets a Teach portrait.

Please Atlus, bring back my landshark... just once.. please..

Sorry , bandana ate all other sharks.

I don't want to meet no sharks

Does she need new pants?

i just beat eo1

So perfect

You did it bro

Congratulations!

Is this now a feral landshark thread?

Hurricane was made for her.

How easy do you suffer burnout in this game?

I just beat III with a bunch of misfits and V with isekai meme party. You just need to be creative with team building.

Only 4 has made me feel burnt out

Yeah, real easy. At first I was immersed and played for days on end.
Then it just stopped and I haven't touched my 2ds in months

How can you even get burn out with something so short?

2slow

Half the speed for half the content.

And half the difficulty which halves the fun.

>Difficulty is a games only redeeming quality

Has this series always been this easy or is it Just V? I just made it to the 5th stratum and its just been an absolute cakewalk. I killed the big elephant fuck before I even finished the 3rd stratum. I also really hope the level cap isn't 70.

EO5 is average in difficulty asa whole, although its random encounters are a bit above that by sheer puzzle design.
It just doesn't have the pitfalls that DS entries have, so anyone smart enough, with enough intuition or who asks around for other people to build their party can have an easy time.

>I killed the big elephant fuck before I even finished the 3rd stratum
sure thing buddy

>Difficultyfaggotry instead of enjoying the game

Difficulty is directly proportional to enjoyment
Lolis do not have a place in the equation

This is a humour post but there are people that seriously believe difficulty is the only thing a game should provide. I despise them

Swear to god I did. It took me a few tries and a little luck with RNG but I managed it. Party was 55-56. All I had to do was alternate panic/petrify and keep spamming my bind blast with my warlock every chance I got. Now my pugilist has been mopping the rest of the game up with this OP fucking gauntlet.

I'm glad you immediately noticed it was a joke
I'm also glad you wrote humour with the second u
>level 55 in stratum 3
Hmmst

>No proof
It's alright champ, we're all friends here. No need to lie

For EO it sure is. And there is nothing wrong with playing a series for one characteristic that you find fun.

>Party was 55-56.
>before the 3rd stratum
There's your problem, you grinded like an idiot/abused DLC. you were supposed to be HALF that level. 56 is the level you're supposed to enter the SIXTH stratum with.
Thankfully there is a level cap so you won't get that obscenely overleveled againt the Evil Dragon, just very overleveled.

Dude I was 70 by floor 17. Grinding shinies with Masurao new opponent is the way to go.

i have fun with the parade of cute girls every time I pick commands.

It's good that you enjoyed the game

Good for you.

I need more Etrian Thonks

Right now im just stacking dosh and buying all the OP shit. I imagine he still isn't going to be very hard.

I have fun drawing maps.

It won't. But you don't get to grind in an obviously game-breaking manner and then call the game easy. Because it's obvious that it's your deliberate out of the way actions that are making it easier, like going to the main menu and selecting the "basic" difficulty.

>implying /v/ doesn't put games on easy, read guides, use game breaking strats all at the same time and then say a game is easy

Do you really want to use /v/ as your role model?

>deliberately get massively overlevelled
>complain that the game is easy
back to /v/

Changing the difficulty isn't earned though. Grinding for hours, beating end-game shit early, going balls deep into the labyrinth as OP as possible is fun as shit. I EXPECTED the game to still be sort of difficult, thats why I grinded to begin with.

I played IV a few years back and sorta did the same thing but the game still posed a relative challenge from what I remember. Surely I ain't the only one who plays dungeon crawlers like this?

That's horrifying
Nah dude

>Role model
What I'm saying is that guy probably did the same shit /v/ does, making the game easy for themselves then going "hurr durr gaemz r so ez now". Also the more experience you have with EO the easier the games will get. Same thing happened with MH, faggots said that World was super easy but it wasn't, people just knew what to do from years of experience

4 is not harder than 5, it's just harder to grind in 4 than in 5
That's probably what we're seeing here
>I expect the game to be difficult
>so I'm gonna spend as much time researching and grinding to make sure it's as easy as possible
>and then complain that it's too easy
m8 if you have fun reaching the level cap midgame then be my guest but you don't get to call it easy after that
>surely I ain't the only one who plays dungeon crawlers like this?
I don't see how doing that is fun in any way so I certainly don't play like that

>dictating how others should and shouldn't have fun
You sure sound like /v/.

No I'm literally arguing against the nonsense /v/ spouts

>callling others /v/
Gee, it sure is /v/ around here

I didn't research a thing. I didn't even know the fucking level cap was 70. I was hoping to go for 99 because now my talents aren't the way I was expecting them to be. I do get to still call the game easy though, if the options are there and I utilized them, and now making conrad and his friends my bitch, then thats how it is.

>if the options are there and I utilised them
Alright so how is this any different from switching the difficulty to easy mode?

Effort.

inb4 he switched it to easy and still grinded

Mind you, easy mode increases exp gain so you may as well have used it anyway
Why does that matter?

I guess you are right. It doesn't matter. If I knew grinding was going to trivialize the game this much, I may as well of put it on basic. Immersion ruined.

>beating end-game shit early
You aren't beating the primordiphant "early". You're beating it with lategame resources.
>I EXPECTED the game to still be sort of difficult, thats why I grinded to begin with
You easily have FIVE TIMES the exp naturally gives you to that point. After grinding more than in a Korean MMO, it should be obvious to anyone with a quearter of a brain that you're going well over what the game expects from you in terms of making the game easier.

They should just do away with levels entirely so retards like you stop bitching about the game being easy because they forced it to be easy.

>If I knew grinding was going to trivialise the game
Grinding trivialises literally every game where it is possible
Prove me wrong

>If I knew grinding was going to trivialize the game this much
Is this your first video game ever?

I wouldn't call grinding "effort" specially not level grinding since it becomes easier and faster the longer you're at it.
It's just brute force.

Some games have level scaling which can make the game harder if you grind too much.
FFVIII for example.

>Contemplating restarting because I finished a battle when a character died, now the exp filling at the end isn't in sync

MMORPGs
In those games grinding is the only way to ever get anything done.

You have to look at it from my point of view. I started with Pug/Fencer/Mas/Bot/Warlock. Quest on the second floor introduces me to rare breeds, I also notice my Mas has a talent literally meant for calling forward rare breed en masse. So from the very first stratum, I unlocked this talent and slowly but surely at the end of every floor I utilitzed that talent a bit. This was the result. Why the fuck wouldn't I use something one of my etrians provides?

Is it V? Then no problem, you'll get a nifty orb later

The Romancing SaGa series also heavily punish you for grinding to the point where certain events are skipped and you might need to restart from scratch because all the enemies one shot you, including bosses.

Not up to V yet. My autism forces me to finish the earlier ones first

Then you have no choice but to load a save.
My condolences

>floor 25
>still no quest to kill the Mammoth
I thought it wasn't a postgame monster.

After I played EOV for the third time back to back I needed to take a break.

But it varies from game to game - EOU is way easier to burn out on for me because of the shitty Grimoires, hostily encounters and relatively low class variety.

Because you're literally standing in one spot and grinding
idk how long it takes to reach 55 on stratum 3 but did you not stop and think 'alright maybe this is enough' at any point? Hell, I'm sure you had to return to the inn for healing periodically

It should be obvious that using that skill will give you way more battles and way more exp that not using/having it at all. It shouldn't take a genius to guess its effects on a party.
But I guess it's indeed a noob trap since it's so easily accessible and exploitable.

>calling your party etrians

Just Rest the entire party down to levels. You still suffer for being bad but not as much as you would with a full restart.

The giant 2nd stratum monster you have to avoid at all cost is a post-game boss in all games that it's used in (the original/Untold, II/2 Untold and V).
But they are usually the easiest post-game boss by far.

Wyvern wasn't a postgame monster in the original. I think you unlocked the quest at floor 21 or something like that. Like the golem in EO1.

I usually did 2 trips. It was honestly at around 50ish that I stopped doing it for the exp and was doing it for money because I felt like I had to buy every upgrade I found. Then I killed the mammoth and saw these fucking gloves costs 300k then go back and 1 shot the hypogryph to get stuck with a sword that costs 400k. The experience just kinda came with the autism.

No, the quest to fight him is postgame but the game expects you to have beat him earlier, as the quest needs his conditional which drops when he dies in 3 turns or less

...

Most importantly, did you have fun? If yes, I don't see the issue here. If not, well, fix your autism.
