Goddamn, the hitboxes in this game are all over the place.

Some of them are just so precise that you activel have to be within kissing distance of a monster to get hit by it, like Odogaron's attacks or Diablos's hipcheck.

But some monsters have utterly horrendous hitboxes, like everything related to Anjanath. His bites have double the range. His hipcheck is as bad as Plesioth's.

A lot of the charging moves' hitboxes piss me off.

I hate how the wings of Bazel also count as hitboxes whenever he does his bulldozing attack where he drags his head on the ground. It shouldn't. Only his head should be a hitbox and his neck.

I don't mind them wanting to make the wings threatening while he does that, but they should have adjusted the animation so that he looks like he's also slamming his wings down with equal force as his head.

Otherwise, having the wings do THAT much damage doesn't make any sense at all.

One thing I'll never understand of charging hitboxes is why they get bigger when the monster is stuck.
Like, if you're in a plain field and dodge to the side you'll usually get out of a charge unscathed.
But if the monster is charging against a wall, it's like 5km in all directions around the monster is suddenly a hitbox. I don't get it.

what happens is a charging monster hits a piece of geometry, like a pillar or wall, and instead of slowing down or changing direction slightly, it'll slide parallel and create a huge zone of fuck you

Guard 3 is a meme. Against smaller, weaker enemies it's fine, but against the EDs you're still going to get tossed around like a drunkard's wife. In this first webm I am using Bazel chest (2 point guard) and Baan gloves (1 point guard), and even Kush is throwing me around.

The achievement for me is getting the A-ranks for them all. If there is any kind of objective and standardized measure of skill in MH, it's those arena quests, because EVERYONE uses the exact same gear.

Vaal is a parasite that gets energy for no effort thanks to the elder dragons rotting around it. It isn't very powerful though because it's too much of a bitch to go to the Elder's Recess and actually get the good stuff.
