Progression is mostly fine, it is a game knowledge/direction/design failure whereby new players are left to stumble around in the dark until they figure out what to do.

The first week of the game is complete shit still for a new player unless you have the wiki open the entire time you're playing it. The wiki's your tutorial.

How do you do Index hardcore? I only see people with Nidus going past wave 1 because enemies get retarded strong and skaterboys suck. Seems like rushing wave 1 and cashing in is best.

I have a theory on rivens mod rolls; every 10th rolls or so, the chance of getting a good-godly riven will increase a little, probably by 5% or something. Can you confirm if theres anything to this?
