This shit has nothing to do with statistics. The point is that the 4* pool might as well be the 3* pool. The 5* to 4* demoting rate is shit but that's a completely different issue from the 3* pool never being changed.

Honestly I think most of your issues would be solved by just increasing the character/release demotion rate since that solves the skill fodder issue and the more characters to roll issue.

That's still a 36% chance to pull from a pool that hasn't changed at all since the game start, but given that there's a lot of good fodder from 3* heroes I'd be pretty upset if they actually expanded that pool with shit fodder so that it becomes even harder to pull desperation and fury. Unless they add more desperation and fury fodder in which case I'm okay with it

At the end you're meant to buy that their ideals co-exist peacefully but it's not like you ever have Alm's ideals challenged or Celica's shown as being valuable.

Alm should've freaked out more about his accidental hypocracy ("even commoners can achieve great things! by the way i'm actually a prince"), how he doesn't want to lead a country where only people who are lucky can achieve greatness. Celica already shows what happens when you're entirely selfless (you become a fucking moron and martyr yourself for nothing) but we don't see the upside of her selflessness because they reworked the dracozombie segment on Alm's map. Include those changes and you can reasonably see how their ideals mingle when they become rulers.
