The second cockpit wasn't for piloting, but for communications as well as strategic or tactical command. A way for the commander to oversee and guide the battle.

Only in some cases. The second eye is cosmetic in most cases, though some assaults are fitted with a second full seat, that's a "command console". Lets a leader lead while someone else drives and shoots.

I'm looking at the crab right now. What are some good loadouts for Crabs? Comparing the variants, the SL variant seems like it can be counted right out, but the 27, 20 and 27B all seem pretty good. The two AMS systems on the 27 seem kind of redundant, but I'm not sure how effective AMS systems are.
I don't have a lot of experience with this, so I'd really appreciate some advice.

Most Crabs are good laserboats, with which energy weapon depending on quirks. Durable, excellent hit boxes, and pretty much anything you get for Cbills will do it's obvious job well. Bushwhacker is the gold standard, but Crabs fill energy roles they can't and are nearly as tough.

27 with 5MPL is a good mech. Though I like my SL with 5MPLs and JJs

What makes taking 5MPL on the Crab better than taking it on the 100 other mechs that can take that?

So these guys raised 20 times what their initial goal was, then shit the bed and delivered nothing while pocketing the money? This is the first I've heard of it.

It's been talked about on Veeky Forums a lot a while back. I've got some of the models, they're like mini-gundams because you have separate hands, lower arms, upper arms, upper legs, lower legs...you get the idea. It feels like it's 20+ pieces to assemble a 1.5 inch tall figure.

Do they still deliver on the separate online purchases?

Oh yeah, the beginner set is at my LGS. I was thinking about picking it up, but I talked with the owner and nobody plays it here.

It's basically a collapse of one of the pillars of the franchise. HG gets very little from it otherwise at this point, since a big part of Robotech presence in the US are games and RPGs.

Interesting, actually. The unique team tactics per group of pilots is pretty awesome, along with fucking enemies with environmental stuff and/or tricking them in damaging themselves.

Case in point. There's one three man team where two do shitty damage but can "herd" enemies with knock back attacks. The third hits harder, and the attack chain-lightnings to adjacent enemies to the target, then jumps to another one if adjacent to the second, and so on.

So your weak damage guys are tossing rocks and shit to shove the enemy into each other, then BZZT lightning whipped mass crispy alien deep fry.

Is it just me, or is Blitzkrieg supremely shit? The grappling hook tank is fucking useless, thr lightning mech doesn't push at all and doesn't do enough damage to kill. The boulder thing seems alright.

Don't know personally, but I've read that you basically need upgrade the lightning to 3 damage and use the boulder to help chain. And never ever do missions like rocket or train because the safe build upgrade doesn't work on allied units. They're pretty much the worst army.

Use the grapple and boulder to get the enemy together.

Then hit them with the lightning. It hits multiple times if targets are adjacent, so you fry the entire bunch in one shot.
