If there's a better answer to parry spammers, I haven't found it. Going for the backstab punish works sometimes but they generally pair their parrying tool with a very fast weapon that can punish backstab punishes.

And yeah sure you often win those trades. And end up attacking them instead and trading profitably. But they have sippies galore to keep trying over and over again until they get a lucky read and one-shot you.

A tip for backstabbing. Hold up your guard since it'll help reduce incoming damage and prevents you from stopping in place when pivoting.

The tier list isn't meant for tryhard dueling, mainly just average to slightly above average dueling so weapons that aren't straight swords or curved swords are put in high to top tier.
Bident is long as shit and does good damage.
Chain. It makes every build better and you can get the Halberd on NG+.

There's some sort of jerryrigged server still active; I guess from an architecture perspective the DeS server fed into the general Sony matchmaking server, so you can still connect by manually changing your DNS

In anything but maximum meta dueling physical holds up just fine.

They're fun as you get the requirements to use a wider variety of weapons. And you don't have to rely on buffs which gives you more lasting power.

Has anyone managed to trick a host into killing an NPC?

Earlier I was seriously trying to get a host and his phantom to attack a mimic but they refused to fall for it. The mimic made for a very safe spot to retreat to when I needed a sippy though
