Memelovers like Kawakami make it impossible for the developers to weave the romance into the day to day story of the game, therefore they are detrimental to the quality of the persona series and should be abandoned from P6 onward.
Persona's romances have always been paper thin. If you want to heavily focus on romance and integrate it into the plot (without having a short novel for each route) you can only have one or two characters to choose from. That would disappoint waifufags who are used to having half a dozen or more.

Late 2014. In spring 2014 I was confused as hell by the video "two best sisters play Persona 4" when a classmate linked it to me because it seemed to allude to a feature anime as well as a video game but I'd heard of neither. I began following the Best Friends at this point because Roosterteeth was on the decline already by that point and they were the only people on the net who seemed to appreciate stuff like Metal Gear Solid but weren't console fanboys.
They talked a lot about Persona, Woolie was jumped into the series after they did a video about Persona 4: Arena and around that time P4 was brought to the PS3 E-shop for 8 bucks so I bought it and got sucked in by the game that had the fucking BALLS to take 4 hours to slowly introduce you to the setting and plot before dropping into core mechanics. I finished it a few months later and shitposted here for a couple weeks before dropping out.
On February 5th 2015 the first real trailer for P5 dropped and there was a lot to discuss. I quickly found out that the only place on the web that discusses persona 24/7 is /pg/. The subreddits were and kinda still are completely dead in terms of real discussion and I knew better than to try my hand at Neogaf or Gamefaqs, so I came here and stayed here.
For the next 2 years I played P4G and sloughed through P3FES and PQ and bounced off of the Arena games while we all shitposted about the release date. Left on September 10th, about eight hours before the real ass spoilers started falling, and stayed go until April 28th after beating P5.
I wrote a lot of fapfic here, was responsible for Handjob Queen and do most of the pervy Futaba posting.
