If God is real, why didn't he announce himself to the all peoples of the world since the beginning of time, but only to certain Middle Eastern peoples throughout various timepoints in history?

Atheist here. But to play devils advocate, mabie he did and it was just interpreted differently by the different people.

Do you think God likes us interpreting him in different ways?

God created a self-reliant system that organizes itself by itself.
God helps the system the minimum amount possible to glorify the virtue of the system.
Jesus Christ did pronounce God's message and proved himself via miracles, but he only did so in the minimum amount feasible to proliferate the virtue of the system.

Answer: Religion is just a social institution.

Why does God hide himself from us?

To produce a quality of greater virtue in the character of man.
A person with free will who has the capacity to choose between good and evil and also chooses good is more righteous than someone who is forced to do good, like an angel.

It is the same with believing in God. If they do the work and figure it out on their own, they are more righteous than someone who is just given proof.

Wouldn't it just be easier to show himself to everyone so everyone could believe in him without any doubt?

I think God's grand design for this system of things is to help it the least amount possible while achieving his goals.

Understood simply it makes better humans, but I think there is more to the picture (mysticism).
