Risk/reward of Self Damage/Increased damage is a shitty system, Risking Time for more consistent damage is much better. And the Widowmaker already has this, risking a secondary ammo source that is more time consuming to reload for more consistent damage. Although I'd like to see the concept of self damage/guaranteed crits applied to snipers. Missing clicking heads usually comes with enough punishment from countersniping or spam on your opening. Something I'd like to see with TF2 weapons is some kind of spam nerf to the Minigun and Flamethrower, some kind of 'overheat' function that reduces effectiveness/range if you are just W+M1.

It barely serves as a distraction. Literally everyone will kill you first, and if they can't kill you for whatever reason, they'll slowly walk up to the sentry and shoot it, or in pyro's case walk at both of you.
It's an assist machine, but it's non threatening as fuck when it comes to doing anything related to objectives and actually winning the game. Literally just build a level 1 sentry instead and be happy.
