Indie/ - Indie and Misc. games General

:thinken: edition.

Previous thread >What the fuck is this
/indie/ is the general for all indie games, such as Hollow Knight, RUINER, Cuphead, A Hat in Time, Heat Signature, LISA, Yume Nikki, OFF, Middens, Underrail, OneShot, Age of Decadence, VA-11 HALL-A, Subnautica, FTL, Machinarium, DashBored, Darkwood, Card City Nights 2, Braid, Monolith, Rain World, Axiom Verge, Guacamelee, The Desolate Hope, West Of Loathing, Stardew Valley, etc. as well as other games that just don't fit in any other general such as Atelier, Rayman, Pillars Of Eternity, Rise Of Nations, and Valkyria Chronicles. Absorbed the /lite/ general some time ago and /jrpg/ is welcome.
Oh, and Rimworld too I guess.

Mobile or consoles, flash or unity, freeware or early access. This place is a home for the indie game community and indie and obscure games that don't have a home. So be free to talk and share all your hidden gems, forgotten games and starving devs here.

>Can I talk about games that already have a general?
We mostly discuss games that are not popular enough for their own threads (since they have no other home in Veeky Forums), however, all indie games are allowed. So talk about them if you want, but don't overdo it since you already have other generals for that.

Are you guys excited for indie games in 2018?

Which ones?

I'd like for a good version of Satellite Reign.

Indie games in general.

Depends. If there are going to be 2D platformers, I'll happily buy them.

Fuck off AGDG hi

cute

post /indie/ qts.

Repostan...
Beneath a Steel Sky, Primordia, Gemini Rue are all great point and clicks.

Waking Mars and The Swapper are top notch puzzle games.

Not here as well. Be gone spider.

How is this acceptable.

>filters

ikr, who would be playing with those filters

Actually KYS.

Applying a filter is hard work, user. The developers deserve to be rewarded. This masterpiece really warrants the almost double price and the removal of the originals from GOG.

>drop by hempuli's blog to see how Baba and ESA2 are coming along
>he's now working on some completely different shit with penguins
JUST

Apparently the originals are getting included when you purchase the remaster so they're not "gone" you just have to buy shit you'll never touch alongside them.

Has anyone else played Yume Nikki dream diary yet?

I'VE BECOME SO NUMB

Good. Suffering stopped.

That's a spanking.

Psychonauts character design scares me to no end.
I had to stop playing that fucking game after 2 levels because it was making me physically ill.

Pussyyy...

I am... the sun!

Seriously, i can laugh out gore, i enjoy horror games, i even go willingly to the Dead Zone in Subnautica but this... This is just wrong.

>i can handle horror just fine!
>just strange proportions scare me off!
You're the weird one here.

ill never understand how people find subnautica scary

everything seems so cool, our irl oceans have uglier creatures with less function, even the dicknose stalker is cool in its own way

For the same reason some people prefer short-haired girls over long-haired girls.
It's all about opinions.

>For the same reason some people prefer short-haired girls over long-haired girls.
Because they're faggots?

You shut your whore mouth.

That too, yeah.

closet faggots is more fitting

>page 10 in under 30 minutes
Jesus Christ, calm down Veeky Forums

I hate so much the Suicide King challenge in Isaac. I can't do it ffs.

How come we're so dead, /indie/?

Everyone is playing. I hope

No discussion. Europeans are in dinner right now, and burgers are working.

>Sunless Skies only made 12k sales so far
I guess Failbetter was the right name for them after all.

>everyone

Maaaaaaaaaaaan, I want to play something too, but I still have to wait for my money to buy the 6 new games I want.

>tfw yuropoor

It's still in beta or whatever, right
SSeas is a pretty good game now but I really didn't like it on release
Also they don't have kennedy working for them any more which is kind of a shame

What's the best challenging 2d platformer of 2018 so far?

Something arcade-y like 1001 Spikes, Super Meat Boy, etc., with hard but short levels would be best.

I guess it would be Celeste or Remnants of Naezith.

suspending your huge friend over a pit from barbed wire while getting raped is a pretty good workout

A Hat In Time got an update. But it isn't the one with coop or NG+.
Is it worth replaying anyway? Did anything significant happen to the core game? Are any mods worth trying?

Grim dawn is on sale right now, what can i expect from this game and should i buy vanilla version or the dlc too ?

I liked the Conductor Village.

celeste

Better than Space Funeral.
Change my mind.

Go for Necrodancer or OneShot instead.

But those are completely different kinds of games

Pretty much. I've said that because I dislike ARPG's.

>SU poster
>has bad taste
Checks out.

Sorry, but what is SU?

has anyone played Synthetik?
how is it?

I think he means Soviet Union.

goddamn commies

Oh...well, aren't Russians in love with ARPG's? PoE and D2?

Russians enjoy many things

Attached: 1520926972102.jpg (639x639, 62K)

Niko? Mauled by a bear?

Do they like cute stuff? I always though all Russians were like "bear? yes, i fight them with axe when i go buy vodka for babushka".

Perhaps that is life in Russian OneShot

I wonder if I can outplay in this game.

Attached: 1503586329333.jpg (1920x1080, 410K)

We need more Russians in /indie/.

I made something for you.

You'll like GD if you like Titan Quest. It isn't flashy, animations are a common complaint, the hardest difficulty/endgame requires beating the base game twice and it could use a bit more support for build variety (could change next expansion) but if none of that bugs you then Grim Dawn is a decent ARPG. I wouldn't buy the DLC unless you like an arena game mode for nonstop fighting (Crucible) or want to play the 2 new masteries (AoM).

subnautica dlc when?
subnautica content update when?

Attached: indie2018.jpg (2537x2027, 920K)

Noita and Baba is You look pretty cool

terraria, stardew valley, or starbound?

not starbound
terraria and stardew valley are very different games
terraria's 2d minecraft with fun* bosses
stardew valley is harvest moon seen through a lens lightly tinted with sjw

Now that the dust has settled, who was in the wrong here?

Attached: 1521472215652.png (1796x780, 465K)

is indie more stricken with sjw retards or are the bigger titles more prone to it?

feels like the japan half of vidya is immune

That's just because we can't talk Japanese. For all we know, Japaneses have it even worse but we don't know it.
Indie attracts retards because you can afford to offend people when you have no boss to answer to. If that guy was working in EA or had a real job, you can bet he would shut his mouth instead of being an edgy piece of shit.

Japan has its own problems honestly, but at least they haven't fallen for the cultural marxism meme and still have decent values and standards. I hope they're able to stay that way.

feels like japans integrated the progressive gay and black friendly half of it pretty well (as long as it isnt part of their own family)

they somehow dodged the outrage culture part of it
wonder how they managed that?

Working 8 hours per day and being pressured into conforming to society doesn't encourage you to rebel.

so what theyre just better disciplined by the folks?

makes sense, im sure anyone of these dipshits who actually think feelings matter more than rights havent had a good belt session from the pops

there are lots of good mods. I'll try to post my list when I get home.

I'm certain most of these SJWs we have are just angsty teenagers and young adults. They're in their typical rebel phase, except they try to support it with "muh racism" arguments.
