How the item rerolling works in this game compared to V2 makes me tempted.
In V1 you could get the stats you want, and then reroll just the numeric value, and the value could never go lower than the highest you've ever rolled for it. So there were tangible steps you could take to get near perfect items, rather than 1 Green 1 Blue good luck.

When I got my gear to 203 I opened 55 commendation chests and used over 600 scrap. It only got me to 280 and I got only 7 gold items and no reds.
I got a ton of dust and scrap that I used to upgrade/reroll a 300 ilevel blue weapon I crafted since I never managed to find an orange/red of that weapon type so not all was lost.
The drop rates from commendations and emp chests are abysmal though I will say.
I think it's a byproduct of being a class that usually has very limited ammo suddenly getting infinite ammo.
They're probably thinking to themselves "if I don't have heat I'm wasting the weapon."
I had to an IB tell me that he doesn't bother with melee when he isn't in overheat because he feels like the drakefire does more damage.
The bounty board just gave a consistent mean of getting good gear, and gave a reason to log in every day. It's what kept my friend and I playing up to VT2.

Anything that counteracts ammo problems draws in fuckheads. The only thing to squeak by this problem has been BH salt and I have a feeling that's only because these samefuckheads would have to roll for scrounger and understand how mechanics work in order to make use of his infinite ammo, which they're sorely unable to do.

Everything that gives stamina, you're supposed to be blocking all the time.
On the lower difficulties just use what you think is most fun. On Champion and above you really want to at least try to learn how to use the glaive since it's her only weapon that can reliably deal with armored enemies.
For ranged weapon longbow is almost always the best bet regardless of the career you choose.

Here we go again. Different roles user, they're both good classes for different reasons.
Merc is lacking imo. All his passives are geared towards wave clearing, but because of how good halberd is Foot Knight can handle that role well enough while providing other things that merc can't do.
