Solid AP is really good now. Has been since the release of French tanks. That said, Brits above 6.7 are a mess and not worth grinding for unless you have some kind of attachment to their tanks and don't mind being a little below average.

DM12 has more pen than the Abrams' last APFSDS, and DM23 has the highest pen for a HEAT-FS shell currently. Complete with meme armor, he's still fit for 9.0+ battles but he chimps now that 7.7s aren't forced to face him in a max uptier or if he downtiers himself.
