It depends. The game from over a decade ago was far superior in every way. There are a few things that are somewhat important coming up.
For example new character customization and hero skins, which are coming out in April.
It may be worth a shot to at least look at.

Can a Jugg out damage Mara in PVE ? I want to start my sw playtrough and mara looks like the damage type of guy but i hate the idea of being a big BT3 pureblood malgus/vader wannabe while flimsing around with 2 sabers like a ballerina.

I feel you. I am in the same boat. I just sent this e-mail to you know who asking him if he is Brageta. That is how bored I am that I am willing to draw the attention of someone like him down on me. It was the most excitement I felt in ages and when I hit send I felt a twinge of "oh shit, why did I just do that?"

I paid $5 for the origin access trial when it came out. Enjoyed the 10 hours I got of it, but I didn't want to spend $60 with the lootbox shit up in the air and a shitty progression system.
Just bought it yesterday for $23 tax included. Free 7 day trial of access brought the price down a little more on top of the existing sale. Progression is good now, straight forward you get xp for the class you're playing. The coming cosmetic stuff seems like it'll be good too.
The game itself I like a lot. It's different from the other options from Dice but it plays well and looks great. Star fighter mode is a fun change too. I think it's worth it.
I let my SWTOR sub lapse. Still haven't finished the trooper or agent story line. I have more fun jewing the GTN and with the tax hike.. Meh.

>freedom Most of this argument seems to stem from vehicles, but I wouldn't really say that BF2 did vehicles better. Sure, you can get them without doing anything, but that's really the only difference between BF2005 and BF2017 aside from not being able to control movement in large walkers and gunships, which I think is a better choice anyway (on Hoth in BF2005, all you do is walk forward anyway. Since it's so big, giving others the chance to pilot it is a plus too. In BF2005, you'd always see people sitting around at spawn waiting for a vehicle to spawn and doing nothing).

>campaign BF2005 basically doesn't have a campaign, I'd compare it to an arcade mode in a fighting game. It's just vignettes as you go to different maps with slightly different objectives and enemies than the free play maps. One of those things I think you'd have to be a clone fetishist or an impfag to really enjoy, because it bored me past the first couple of missions even as a kid, much less now.

Do you guys really discuss anything besides SWTOR here? I just got Battlefront 2 (2017) since it's on sale and I've been enjoying it a fair amount, but directly comparing it to BF2 (2005) today I still think the original is leagues better (plus it's free from all the sequel shit, I swear they picked the resistance commander VA straight out of some college sorority).
Also is it worth installing SWTOR again to see the expansions (I have them since I subbed for a month a year ago or so)? I finished the Hutt planet one but was so bored out of my mind by it that I just uninstalled the game and haven't looked back. Of the characters I played I did really like the IA storyline and the SW, SI/JK/Trooper were ass. Judging by those preferences, would I like the stories of the other expansions? I certainly wouldn't be reinstalling for the gameplay.
I liked the Imperial Agent and Sith Warrior* is how that should read. I'm operating on 2 hours sleep. I didn't play every class but the ones I listed I thought were mediocre at best and atrocious at worst.

Can't decide if I should replay KotOR II to try out the deleted content mod for the first time or if I should check out Jedi: Outcast or Academy. I played the first two Dark Forces games but I can't tell if the rave reviews for Academy are all nostalgia or if it will actually hold up.
