I think that user is trying to assert that Flynn failed so comprehensively as writing any character in line with previous characterization that every one was essentially an OC. Which is erroneous.
Eh, normal Metal Sonic seems likely, or as pointed out, Zero, because it seems weird that the bad guy has any regard for Amy's existence.

Obviously Metal, the clue that casual fans wont get right away is the connection betwen the villain, and Sonic/Amy.
The only villains this could be are Metal Sonic (CD), or Zero (Adventure) both of which targeted Amy in their respective games. Zero has no interaction with Sonic though, although it's very easy to explain that Zero obviously knows who Sonic the damn Hedgehog is.
But Metal is just much more likely because why would you launch the first arc of the comic with Amy's one-time robot rival, rather than Sonic's OG franchise-long Rival.

Sonic the Hedgehog, Secret rings, Unleashed, Black knight, colors (which was the only decent one), they are all the same crap with a side gimmick. SEGA releases one every single year to try and milk the **** out of it. The milking is worse than CoD.
Sonic is to dead but SEGA doesn't want to let him go. While Mario is winning GoTY, top scores, etc... SEGA tries to milk whats left of Sonic, but in the end its always a failure.
"SEGA does what Nintedo don't", maybe they should have done what Nintendo does and create good games with their mascot.
