I love this meme thanks op

Post progress and I WILL reply to it!

>undertale is a bad game
that's why It was the top ranking game on PC metacritic once, like 98% positive.

Can someone explain this meme to me? I completely missed it.

He didn't imply undertale is a bad game, he said he was well known by his target audience.

is this where engindeving should be posted?

Shitposter thread confirmed. Abandon immediately.

You are much more mentally ill than the people you accuse others of being.

How so? Also I never called you mentally ill OP. Although you obviously are.

At least it's not as bad as the shitposter OP a few months ago. That OP would change URLs to random shit and replace periods with commas and shit like that.

About the AI quest stuff, no, I'm not yet thinking about letting an AI fabricate the quests.

What I mean is, think about skyrim. You have the npcs doing their standard npc jobs, and living their npc lives, which I can easily* replicate with a goal oriented AI and a separate goal creator (which can be an utility ai on its own right, or just a hardcoded module). But then you can speak to these npcs, and they can give you quests, or have dialogue only triggered when you have certain items/ have performed certain actions. And I have no idea on how to integrate those 2.

*Okay, it took me a month of planning and 2 weekends of programming. But the GOAP part was easy-ish to conceptualize, the hard part was planning the AI component's structure, and who talks to who.

The adventure begins!

Attached: intro 5.webm (1200x700, 2.7M)

It keeps getting posted to trigger this one sperglord who calls anyone who dares mention sculpting "mentally ill", which is an obvious projection.

In this case he got so asspained he actually made another thread, which will get deleted once the mods see it was made after.

that's some good texturing

Looks great.
Can you also give me some pointers how to make it to the top of reddit multiple times with your progress posts, mine get completely ignored

>How does it go, again?
it goes it goes it goes it goes it goes

When are you actually going to release this?

check the previous demodays link

>5 days left for small world jam
And now I'm starting to realize my scope may have been too large.

>not *record scratch* "yep, that's me. you're probably wondering how I got here"
0/10

oh, nevermind. This OP is a trash fire.

I really have no idea what you're trying to go for with the shadow of the falling knight? it looks like horns maybe?

Other than that questionable choice, it looks really good. as an idea guy, I still think it would be great to be chased by something big as you're falling, like at first it seems like free-fall, then you realize you can kind of move left or right, then a big claw smashes into the tower or something

git gud.

post game

Alright it's time for me to figure out how turn-based RPG battles work
I sure hope that this is very easy and not at all difficult in the least

Use RPGMaker unless you want a massive headache

Why is it that most gamedevs are into shemales/dickgirls/futas?

Attached: poison.jpg (334x500, 24K)

oh no

too much soy

Because tits and cocks are literally the best of both worlds

because women are inferior

Is that GyroVorbis

>i genuinely believe a couple of shitposters and closet faggots on Veeky Forums like are an accurate representative of gamedevs
if you can't pick up the courage to leave the basement at least start visiting sites where people actually have identities

Because if I can choose between a girl dicking a girl or a dude dicking a girl, I'll choose the former every time.

I don't know if I got lucky, a thing I've been doing for the past two years is writing a whole lot of gags and stuff on a "Misc trash" text file, where I just put in every idea I have without minding whether they're good or not, then months later I go over the file and there's stuff I kind of don't remember writing that make me laugh when I read them, these get to stay. Then when working on these ideas some of them make for cool vids.

No set date yet

There will be something, not exactly a big monster, but slightly akin to that.

The particles may be placeholder, but I'm trying to hustle a bit now so whatever is passable might stay for a while.

t. actual cuck

Now use this technology to make a gelatinous amorphous enemy made out of nanomachines or something

thing is, if it's a dude dicking a girl you can just self insert as the dude, if it's a "girl" dicking a girl you are also getting off to the dickgirl

>you can just self insert as the dude,
how to spot an actual faggot

h-he's fast !

I was exactly about to post that I wanted to do that.
I'd have to use shape keys for that one though, I don't think it would work with that implementation of gerstner waves.

Attached: why does this look better than my animations.webm (1280x720, 1.69M)

So I more or less know how to use a couple different trackers at this point, but I have no idea how to make a song that doesn't sound like shit. Are there like, books or something on composing music that isn't ear cancer?

Show me some godot videos pls.

Attached: 1520380041734.png (650x773, 47K)

No, there aren't books that deal with that. That's a pretty good idea, hopefully someone will write one soon.

Have you tried listening to a bunch of songs in a genre, then trying to copy their "style" with your own?

Alternatively, have you tried telling a story where each part of the song represents a part of the story?

Alternatively, have you tried making a catchy tune and then adding more stuff to it, changing its key and other tricks?

youtube.com/watch?v=z4g-hKQ-2ag

Remember:You made the choice to use Godot. You brought that pain and stress onto yourself

anyone else /brainlet/ here and get so hung up on code design and program structure to the point where they get nothing done. I swear I've started 20-30 projects that never make it to a playable demo because I'm always worried about how I'm programming the game and if its the best way. Autism really hinders me.

ok anti godot shills.

>babby's first pixelvania
the power......

Just imagine using such a shit engine that you spend more time defending your choice of using it than you do actually using it to make video games.

Attached: 1510985183133.png (600x580, 572K)

You mean like Unity shills do?

youtube.com/watch?v=OHrHIQuexhI

Imagine the shills being scared of a new FOSS engine that in two years already became the best 2D engine in the market.

Soon, godot will support Blender new material system, and will BTFO Unreal and Unity at their own AAA game.

Stay mad shills.

post game

Does your game have food that looks anywhere near as good as the roast boars in Asterix

>Soon, godot will support Blender new material system
you mean PBR? it already supports that and imports glTF materials and animations perfectly

>when you have more youtube videos of tech demos than you do actual games

Attached: 1518824828853.jpg (327x322, 47K)

>not making enemies red when they get hit
>also no hit frame stop
What the fuck? It's almost like someone doesn't like their game to be fun to play

>hitstop
disgusting

You mean like Unity for the first ~5 years of its existence?

People are flocking to Godot because Blender is already wildly popular with indies and it just makes sense to use the FOSS engine with the FOSS modelling suite. Unity has been beaten at their own game and that is where the asshurt is coming from.

youtube.com/watch?v=lrwHTJ41JiY

>imagine using the free version of unity and having the showelware engine logo at the beggining

Trully lol.

Attached: 1471904447174.jpg (633x568, 138K)

unity didn't have rabid 4chummers constantly shilling it

just add one frame of it to your heavy attack and you will see that it feels more powerful

PBR is a meme

Attached: fgsfds.jpg (500x375, 30K)

youtube.com/watch?v=741WnWIsf2I

Imagine the unity shills seething when godot already don't put basic engine features behind a paywall.

LOL

>>also no hit frame stop
SoTN had to "hitframe stop" and it was fantastic

imagine shitposting and discussing trivial shit instead of making progress

Attached: yaranaika.jpg (750x1000, 19K)

How much did you pay in the asset store today, Unity cucks?

Attached: chinaman.jpg (480x360, 35K)

PBR isn't a meme. PBR is easy and looks great, and more importantly it looks similar across all platforms.
I never ever want to deal with specular workflow ever again.

It's not a meme but I do think it's overrated.

I downloaded free goat legs from the asset store once upon a time, does that count?

>looks similar across all platforms.
that's true of every shader using the same algorithm.

Are you mentally handicapped?
Most 3D software don't even use similar shader systems, you mongoloid.

tbqh I've never released any game
I just do some shit for fun and to improve my drawing and programming skills

Attached: 1510199381064.jpg (692x1024, 56K)

>to improve my drawing and programming skills
then you probably should find another method cris

>Most 3D software don't even use similar shader systems

Attached: brainletinu.jpg (811x1082, 180K)

PBR isn't an algorithm, it's a concept with different implementations.

Show me your Blender to Unity shader exporting, user.
Just give it a go.

Never has a post-image combo made more sense

nah I'm good. I don't use any gui engines

Doesn't it work now that Blender has its principled (aka pbr) shader ?
Not that I'm arguing I'm just curious.

Yes. That's what I'm saying: PBR looks similar across all software, old specular systems do not because they use completely different setups.

this is your brain on anime/dog posting

>Show me your Blender to Unity shader exporting

Attached: e0stFTO[1].png (800x800, 84K)

In godot, can you only do a raycast reliably in the '_physics_process' function?

I believe you can update raycasts or use intersect_ray at any time, it's just a query of the current physics state and not an actual physics update.

post font

Does your game have an option to turn off blood?

Attached: firefox_2018-03-25_20-35-48.png (644x165, 46K)

Which subreddit, if I may ask?

How do I get a variable from another blueprint in UE4?

Attached: 1505931457889.jpg (601x508, 48K)

Why arent you 3D devs learning how to sculpt?

Should my player character be a bunny on a pogo stick instead of a kid on a pogo stick?

It should be a bunny who transforms his legs into a pogo stick

kid who transforms his prick into a pogo prick

Reworked my assets a bit besides the UI and effects, which are still placeholders. Finished implementing bare-bones combat, though I suspect I'll have to work on it a lot more to get it to feel just right.

Attached: gm_5.webm (640x360, 2.67M)

Because this is the graphical style I'm going for.

Attached: Super-Mario-64.jpg (970x545, 53K)

I feel like with just a slightly more animated walk cycle you could juice this up a ton
The rest looks pretty good though I think

right now I'm learning music and maybe later I'll learn godot.
