Ultima weapons are the worst thing that's ever been added to this game. Right up there with elemental resistance and the forced rainbow meta.
Now not only do you have to choose characters based on their element and role and overall quality, you have to choose based on their fucking weapon proficiency, which leaves you with literally zero fucking choices as to what characters to use. Most elements have barely enough SSRs of the chosen proficiency (which usually means swords) to even fill the front row let alone give you ANY fucking choice as to who to use.
I fucking miss HRT. Holy shit, the shit he came up with failed more often than it succeeded, but at least it never felt like he was trying to make everyone quit the game out of sheer frustration.

Yeah. Ultima killed any trace of versatility the game barely had. That added to the poor balance between character kits makes some characters outright useless even with 5*, Magisa being one of the many.

If I just finished my base wind grid, should I start on my fire grid in preparation for xeno sagi, or should I just go through the mainwheel elements in order of advantage (use wind to farm earth, earth for water, water for fire)?

Everyone uses sword because there are slightly more sword proficient characters than anything else, and more broken sword characters than anything else.

I got good earth units so im farming Ygg with my wind grid now, she's super easy with Anat as a main Summon and Grimnir as a support summon, mostly because Grimnir has the free 10k damage shield that no magna can break, for tanking Ougis to the face
