No it's not, near non-existent moderation is. Sure & Humanities gives many shitters the excuse to dump shit here that belongs on the relevant specialist board, but topic creep would happen with just History- look at all the threads that ideological cart-pushers with no stake in the success of the board posted with the lazy qualifier of "historically speaking" (before they realised they didn't even have to do that to get past the completely disengaged janny).

Lazy moderation is the problem, but there's been a hell of a lot of dieback, I'm not convinced that even if we had some hard pruning to try and clear out the colonists that have no interest in discussing history only to proselytise for their ideology of choice that the honest posters that have been driven off would return in any appreciable quantity.
