Was he the Hitler of his day? Was the number of parallels remarkable?

Was he the Hitler of his day? Was the number of parallels remarkable?

His wars were mostly defensive in nature, so no.

In the sense of an individual who changed the landscape of Europe through war and the sheer strength of his personality, sure, kinda.

In manner of governing, approach to war, war objectives, and basically everything else, not really.

No, it was an extremely different situation. The "parallels" are mostly Anglo propaganda.

Hitler was defending ethnic Germans from genocidal Poles

>allowed divorce
>literally worked to bring more education
>Was a huge fan of physics and sciences due to their battlefield applications
>literally worked to turn a war torn country and managed to salvage a fucking civil war into an Empire
>Did Historical archeological searches in Egypt
>Thought that the idea of liberty were important and that self determination is good
>literally Recreated the concept of Empire with more legitimity than the HRE
>BTFO multiple English led Coalitions against the Ideals of lack of Monarchy and Equal rights for the people and the nobles
>somehow as bad as hitler
He was a good leader and didn't resort to senseless murder of ethnicities.
He only wanted the best for Europe, also he wasn't a tard like Hitler and was an actually Competent General.
So the parallels are very low.

>His wars were mostly defensive in nature, so no.
How did he end up in Russia then?

google the word "mostly" you autist

the wars in Spain and Russia were aggressive, and the war in Spain is nigh indefensible. The other 7 wars were declared ON France by other powers.

Also he invaded Russia in 1812, but Russia had already waged three wars of aggression against France in the previous decade (one of these bringing them as far from home as Italy)

You can't say they didnt bring it upon themselves

No. Napoleon was a remarkable military leader and an ok to bad politician.

Hitler was just mediocre.

napoleon just saved the french from being into african tier after french revolution
in the end he made good fundamental for future france tb-qh

>Spain literally plans treason against France after Trafalgar
>napoleon catches wind but plans are called off after Prussia is BTFO in 19 days
>Napoleon strikes first instead and installs his brother
>nigh indefensible
Yeah okay buddy.

>against the ideals of lack of monarchy and equal rights for people and the nobles
user stop this is delusion. I love Napoleon but he was above all a pragmatist. Only in his youth was he an ideologe. His interests were purely what was best for France.

>Was the number of parallels remarkable?

Not really. For one thing, Hitler was awarded a medal for his bravery whereas Nappy ran away and abandoned his fellows on more than one occasion.

I know you're trolling, but still

Hitler was awarded a medal during WW1 for being a fucking courrier and managing to escape the battlefield without being hit by artillery (lmao)
Meanwhile, when Napoleon was still a captain at the Siege of Toulon, he personally took part in a charge against a British fort, killed enemies with his saber and got wounded in the thigh by a bayonet

Now if you want to compare them as military leaders, Napoleon was present on the battlefield even when everything was lost while Hitler never showed up even once and hid in his bunker like a bitch

>allowing divorce
>good

dont worry, he later cracked down on it very hard

He reintroduced Slavery. The French committed many war crimes in Egypt (massacre of Jaffa) and Spain (see Goya's series of drawings "The Disasters of War"). Napoleon not only did nothing to stop them : he justified them.

Those in Spain were justified though

>using Goya's propaganda as a source

Mcfucking kill yourself

Totally untrue, he was fervent believer in the emancipation of the French people promised by the revolution but was wary of the Jacobins, kept his distance from them believing that they were too edgy. He spent his early career focussed on the military because that's what he did best and that was how he could best protect the ideals of the revolution at the time.

>my mommy left my daddy, no one should have that right!
I'm not above saying that Western marriage culture (for lack of a better word) is absolute shit at the moment, but you shouldn't force two cunts to be attached at the hip forever, it sometimes gets ugly for all involved and they end up separating physically anyways
