Remembered that I tried mining bitcoin years ago

when internet safety nerds recommend that you use a different password for every site and change it monthly they forget the downsides
how hard is it to brute force the password?
why not brute force it?
I remember all my old passwords. Not sure why I wouldn't...
>not using the same password for your whole life
wtf
my high-school gave me a crazy 9 character password and I remembered it and have used it for everything
brute force that shit user, think of the coins
unless you were mining in 2010 and/or had a serious mining rig i doubt you had more than a few BTC on there.
I did the same shit and had ~12 BTC on an old hard drive from when I was living at my mom's.
literally no clue where the drive is now.
Didn't really think it's possible to be honest, any pointers? I don't need to be spoonfed just a finger at the right direction
just google how to make a python bruteforce script, you will feel 1337 and will actually learn something in the process
feel free to donate once you crack it open with my tip

I have 14 BTC since it was at $400 a coin.
So, since 2014 or so.
I mined them with 2 HD 7950, and forgot about them.
which wallet? I could help you build a script to crack it for 1btc
Op, throw me a bone to nibble on if you succeed, I'm making 200$ slave bucks a month. 1837ZsaveGPFRr27M2LmRb1AziVRkUn8y8

oh I thought you are op. my bad
op, what do you say about?
github.com
I have 7 litecoin I mined ages ago that I can't access. If it ever gets to > $1000 I'll probably try this out on it.
The key to remembering is self-hypnosis. Get yourself in a relaxed state, without distractions of any kind. A dark cool room is best.
Practice no-thought meditation for an hour or so.
Then visualize your life during the period. Sometimes it helps to have cues, little things collected during the period. Pictures help. Close your eyes and explore your memories but focus on the way you felt at the time. Really inhabit your old body, your old mind. Just allow yourself to remember every detail possible.
Its in there OP. It is in your memory banks
Hypnosis might also work, I'd try the above method first
If all else fails, Ouija board
Or even retail data recovery services
The fuck
Hypnosis is real, ouija board is a meme.
Might be quite hard to pull something like this off though.
same for me op, but it just happened with 4200 pesetacoins, I've lost like $30 :(
All my other wallets had passwords I remembered
>tfw password.txt
win it all back on mooncoin?
I may be stupid, is this a wallet file at all?
yes
and in my experience, when they are only that size, they are not encrypted
Looks like it. You can email it to me and I'll take a look at it.
Wink wink.
make a copy somewhere else, before you do anything else
then download the wallet, install it, and override the wallet.dat that it generates (in %appdata%\bitcoin\) restart the wallet, and wait 2 days or whatever until it updates
This is if this is from the bitcoin core wallet.
I only have experience with the core wallets though
