What do you think it would have been like to be Cleopatra's younger brother?

What do you think it would have been like to be Cleopatra's younger brother?

>have beautiful older sister who rules as Empress and is worshipped by all
>suddenly you're forced to marry your older sister because it's Egyptian custom for monarchs to marry their sibling
>have to consumate your marriage with your beautiful older sister
>you and your neesan now jointly rule as God and Goddess with absolute power

Cleopatra wasn't beautiful, people liked her for her wit and charm, she was kind of an uggo

>Fuggopatra
>beautiful
lol no

And then she cucks you with Caersar

>implying any woman is beautiful without make up
>implying most women aren't ugly without makeup

Stop, you're giving me a boner.

>or was that your intent all along?

If you have that kikebeak even a pound of makeup won't hide it.

>marry your older sister because it's Egyptian custom
Ptolemaic dynasty was hellenic and didn't practice this "custom". But anyway enjoy getting rekt by romans.

lewd

>Homo detected

Man, you guys already have /pol/, why ruin Veeky Forums? You brainlets are boring as fuck. you stick out like a sore thumb everywhere. You all talk the same, you can spot a /pol/tard anywhere on the internet. Fucking parrots always ruining discussions.

>didn't practice this "custom"
False. Ptolemaids were so inbred they made Habsburgs look normal.

Lol actually they did you freak

>this triggered over the word kike
Guess how I know you're not native to Veeky Forums

I'm not him, but i don't even go on pol, I'm just casually racist against Jews. Why shouldn't I just talk how I normally talk?

Wtf is "gass"?

Is there any civilisation sexier than Ancient Egypt?
>mythology so fixated on rape, sex purity/impurity it makes the Greeks look like puritans
>brothels made their prostitutes wear blue wigs, so you can fuck an anime girl
>pretty much every noble fucked their nee-san/imouto
>Ramesses II was said to have a harem of 100 women from the noblest Egyptian, Syrian, Hittite and Nubian families
>even Greek Pharaohs have lewd names like "Lover of his Mother"
>Cleopatra goes down in history as the sexist woman to live

Except it was one of the first customs Ptolemy adopted so the Egyptians would accept his rule.

>wow it has incest and rape isn't that awesome
What is with you fucking degenerates being this sex obsessed?

Women and normies have sex way more often than we do but we're "sex obsessed"

You can't say you're a real Veeky Forums poster until you have a deep emotional and sexual connection to the past.

>even Greek Pharaohs have lewd names like "Lover of his Mother"
that didn't have a sexual meaning, though.
They might be inbred sibling-fuckers, but they're not Parthians.

>posts on Veeky Forums
>doesn't have intricate and varied historical sexual fantasies

wew lad

Don't forget Antonius too.

Don't forget how skin-tight dresses that left the breasts exposed were popular fashion.

>triggered

>Doesn't even know how to spell gas

>beautiful

Nobody was beautiful two thousand years ago. You would be extremely repulsed by everyone if you time traveled back to then.

Bita' Menace there ayy

G-gonna need the sauce of that

Hentai/anime set in the ancient world is my fetish

WE WUZ INBRED RETARDS

Queen's Blade.
Needs more Nubian eunuchs.

thanks

i want normies to leave

>only be famous for being cum dumpster for 2 Romans

user, you do know Cleopatra was a Macedonian and descended dirty (through incest) from Ptolemy, meaning she would have had blonde hair? Her skin would not have been anywhere hear that bark and there ceremonial wig she wore (royalty at the time generally shaved their heads to keep from having lice) would not have looked like "real" hair.

If you want a good idea of what Caesar, Cleopatra, Mark Anthony, etc.. looked like, I highly recommend the HBO show "Rome" because it had a big budget (but since Mexicans are so damn stupid it only got 2 seasons). But the passion and amount of research that went into it was amazing.

I pity you. For real.

damn it those fucking hands tho

>but since Mexicans are so damn stupid it only got 2 seasons
Eh?

'MEricans

It was actually completely filmed in Italy and all was done by Italians, which is why it was so good. Bruno Heller (the EP) went on to do some trash show. Also, "Game of thrones" lifted about 5 different actors from them, including Naobi.

that poor guy who playedLucius had a shot as his own Network sitcom, something about being a time traveler and he blew it. I just cannot get why "girls" on HBO can get 6 or 7 seasons and other awful shows like "Shameless" can get 8+ seasons, but the one good TV show of past 20 years they had to sue it down so there are only 2 seasons to lose myself in. Feels bad man.

Keep in mind who actually minted that coin...

I think you're skipping the part about how Cleopatra basically deposed her little brother after twiddling papa Caesar's phalanx a bit, leading to his death. Unless you mean her other little brother - but given how much older she was than he, I doubt there was much screwing going on (plus I don't think she wanted to leave any doubts as to Caesarion's lineage).

So I don't think nee-san and onii-chan got along very well. Although maybe he got along a bit better with his other sister, Arsinoe, if barely. Granted, he did kinda try to kill Cleo a few times, even managing to exile her, but she was being a bitch.

>so damn stupid it only got 2 seasons
Think the story was kinda done - at least insomuch as it could remain at all tied to any actually history.

There is, or was, talk of the same crew doing a remake of "I,Claudius" - which would be fugging awesome, if a tough act to beat. That show was the true patrician's "Rome".

but mate, they only finished it so quickly since it was decided at the end of the first season that the second would be the last. Do you agree that Titus and Lucius were great characters? Think how many side plots there could have been, at least some visuals during the battle of Actium, etc..
They ran out of money. If only they could have had the budget for GOT (which is a SJW snooze-fest) and put it into Rome. How amazing would it have been? They shot some of it on Malta (as they did Game Of Thrones). I just feel like it could have been so much better if they didn't have to rush through it in 2 seasons.

GOT has become awful with all it's moral lessons: slavery is bad, strong women are good, blatant homosexuality is perfectly acceptable, etc...

Titus and Lucius were almost entirely fictional characters, and if you wanted historical accuracy, and are offended by homosexuality, well, the show wouldn't have gone well for you.

Two seasons was almost too much, they coulda got that story done in one 13 episode season. I prefer the model where the story has a consistent pacing with a clear beginning and end - not a thousand spinoffs into lalla land and filler for as long as it makes cash.

(Although, yes, while I don't share any of your complaints - GoT has gone on for far too long.)

I, Claudius was a multi-generational story and they managed to pull that in 12 episodes just fine.

t. octavian

...

>Titus and Lucius were almost entirely fictional character
they are the only 2 commoners mentioned in Ceaser's account of his conquest in gaul. As good a place to start as any. They also did a very good job searching, specifically with regard to Plutarch and things like the Tarpian rock, how auguries are taken, etc..

>and are offended by homosexuality

It's not leddit friend, it's an anonymous board-- you don't need to virtue signal. In "Rome," it was written into it the story in a way that makes sense based on what we know of the society-- not just gratuitous homosexuality for it's sake. I'd argue the one time "Rome" fell into this trap was in Otavia's lesbian relationship with Servilla

As for what you sat about 2 seasons being enough, that wasn't the plan. Heller had it mapped out for 4-5 seasons. I saw some of the scripts for the 3rd (written before the New HBO president decided to pull plug)because I had an acquaintance meant to direct one of the episodes.

You can never tell for sure obviously, but IMO would have done amazingly well in 4 seasons. All their directors ended up being taken by Sopranos, GOT, and a few others. Van Patten and Coulter really sort of established themselves as "prestige TV" directors that show.

>not just gratuitous homosexuality for it's sake
If you let that show go on for long enough, you'd land on an Emperor officially marrying a boy toy with a 100,000+ plebs ceremony (also something similar going on with a horse at one point). So no, not really.

Don't forget all the slave revolts that'd offend him so (granted most of those happened before HBO's Rome.)

They were different times!

A lot of cultures espacially in Africa / the middle east and parts of Asia had the custom.

Hence i.e. people from Eritrea and Pakistan look so weird, generations of inbreeding where it was normal for cousins to marry into 1st and 2nd generation family, for genes to be safe you need to be atleast 3rd or 4rd generation removed from each other.

Try Anatolia Story.
It's a shoujo, but it's one of the few pieces of fiction set in the ancient Hittite Empire

>it's a shoujo

I saw the proposed scripts user. It was never going to go past Octavian's life, but a lot of things were squeezed together in ways that felt awkward. It could easily have done 4 seasons and gone well if they'd coughed up the fucking money.

What irritates me now even more, you have amazon, netflix, now even Apple starting to make TV shows and I already know that not one will be watchable.
One could argue that Rome was certainly "diverse" but it showed people day to day more or less as the sources agree they lived. The dramatizations and shortcuts were't enough to take away from the actual story.

Curent entertainment (see film "hidden Figures") is so desperate to shoehorn minorities and women into "accomplishments that were either completely negligible or just flat out did not happen.

when I was 13 or 14, recall seeing on early YT "the old negro space program" (had to be in two parts since it was over 10 mins I think) Ad everyone saw the humor in it, because..well, blacks didn't play any sort of role in the space program. Now, we have movies alleging that they did in all seriousness. We have indeed entered a "post-truth world." there not only need to be roles for "diversity," but "diversity" always has to be portrayed positively. So, for example, "the Last King of Scotland" even had to have the one token, righteous black doctor/Christ figure who took the wrap for the mistakes of the Dr. Grrigan and was then lbasically crucified for the White man's sins. We can't just have "movies" now. Everything is a fucking
war against those trying to falsify history and promote their chosen group:

I see /pol/ has forever ruined all movies and all history for you.

I see you are unable to ask skeptical questions of what is happening around you in life.

>I already know that not one will be watchable.

So true. Netflix shits out shows at an alarming rate but they are all shite without any artistic merit whatsoever.

Black Mirror was bretty gud.

99% of everything everywhere is shit though... Even HBO and Miramax can't strike gold every time.

there are several theories about that. should just parrot one and put it as fact

I never saw Marco Polo but I heard it was good.

The transparent dresses are even better.

Ancient Egypt has to be the only historical society that is less sexualized in Hollywood depictions than the genuine historical version was.

>"Lover of his Mother"

Gross.

>White

Haha. You guys are just like the afrocentrists.

Must be horrifying living in Ancient Egypt knowing about the dangerous savage wild animals in the south.

Have you ever been to North Africa? The inhabitants are light skinned but not white.

As are the Spanish, Irish, the Italians, the French, the English, the Norwegians, the Americans, and anyone else, when I feel like it, because people keep making up new shitty criteria for what their special snowflake "whiteness" entails, and genetics is the last thing it's ever based on, since people know jack shit about genetics.

Tomaru Sawagoe tier of inbreeding

Anyone with a brain can tell North Africans arent white, because white people have a specific kind of facial structure not seen in North Africans.

>as the sexist woman to live

How much sex do you think they had back then?

All of it

I really want to know what the sex lines of nobility were like, user.

it's anime, they make every race look like that except blacks.

Lots of. Especially farmers had a lot of free time that they couldn't fill with anything except sex.

lots of jackin it

>he said a mean word it must be the horrible /pol/ come to invade my board

it's the nerve gas doing this to him

Did anyone else see that recent BBC documentary that basically explained all the pharaohs were genetic freaks through generations of incest, and that Tutankhamun fatally broke his knee during an epileptic seizure.

(((BBC)))

You're going to have to explain that one to me.

cuck porn has gotten to him so much he associates bbc with big black cock now.

t. eternal anglo

Not really. The myth of ancient times being smelly and disgusting is a myth.

Read Ancient Evenings.

>You would be extremely repulsed by everyone if you time traveled back to then.
Yeah but beauty is relative and a function of scarcity.

Cicero literally meant "chickpea" and was supposedly a reference to some ungodly growth on his face.

And he was an aristocrat who would have had the most resources to invest in making himself clean and pretty.

Will do, thanks chief.

The God of Abraham triumphed over all the gods of Egypt

>Tomaru Sawagoe
Rape is the only way of having intercourse for most of the people on this board.

It's a reference to the end of his ancestor's nose, which was cleft a little like a chickpea, you fucking bullshitting plebian

>Cleopatra wasn't beautiful, people liked her for her wit and charm, she was kind of an uggo

This is somewhat a myth. People like to jump between two extremes of "she was beautiful" and "she was ugly but smart". The sources say that she was pretty average for a Graeco-Makedonian queen, which still would have likely been pretty attractive. They mostly just say that the real beauty was her ability to talk about shit.

sounds very sexy

>neesan

dude

literally Hellenes

i agree

>hentai

You losers need to get a real woman. Jacking off to cartoons is absolutely pathetic.
