Dan needs a fucking editor to tell him when to stop

Still, it's about nuclear weapons, mite b cool

dancarlin.com/hardcore-history-59-the-destroyer-of-worlds/

>implying quantity doesn't have its own kind of quality

>he doesn't like having listening material to keep him busy for at least a week.
Long podcast is best podcast.

Literally r*ddit tier """"history""""

What is this bullshit? Carlin has primary sources and is well researched

Fuck OFF fucking nazi scum

I wish these could be divided into 30 minute segments. I never have the time to listen to a full podcast of his and never remember where I left off.

I usually listen when I'm hiking.

No better way to listen to audio, inna woods or on the mountainside with no distractions but the conversation you're hearing in your head.

Was totally worth it. Makes shitty job far more enjoyable.

Dan's shit is top notch
Would reccomend Hardcord History to anyone even people not interested in history

does he talk about israel?

Dan the Man!

Too bad about the paywall though.

Dan Carlin is pop history for edgy kids who think they're smart and skim wikipedia articles

He gets all sorts of basic stuff wrong

>He gets all sorts of basic stuff wrong
Examples

and what is wrong with that?

not everyone has the time or resources to get a history degree

It's fun when commuting 4 hours a day. So I finished more than half of it yesterday.

>hurr podcast isn't expert level enough

Kindly fuck off with your autism.

Yeah, he's a great storyteller with a flair for the dramatic. He openly admits what he does isn't academic history. But he tells a damn good story and is a very entertaining listen. You don't listen to him as a source for papers but to listen to an entertaining speaker.

Which is why not everyone has an opinion worthy of sharing.

Sounds like there's a gap in the market then. You could start your own podcast Caledonian "The Really Autistic History Show". Surely everyone will tune in.

Or just the history show.
As opposed to the super fun time story telling about the last show?

'Cos it has fuck all squared to do with history.

Use something like pocketcats on your phone, it automatically keeps track of where you left off

No it'll be the really autistic show. "So um.....so we h..h...have the r.roman governor um... the roman governor Ger..germanicus. urg. Um. Tacitus says about him "QUOTE I...I....IIlle homo h...h...hhonestus, non ti...ti...mentes ullam End QUOTE". And, heh, and we all know what..what that means right?

>no_fun_allowed.jpg

Only one who looks like an autist is you mate

Get the fuck out of here you fucking homo. Dan does an extremely good job stop being a fucking edgelord. Its history no fucking documentary or story will ever not have biases and sometimes histories disagree. Just because you disagree doesn't make you right.

I love all of Dan's stuff the man puts in fucking work. Ill give him the benefit of the doubt he sights his sources and says he normally has between 30-60 total. I have a long work day alone so 6 hours is great I love a good story teller and one who is right 99% of the time.

Well there' already one called In Our Time on the BBC where they get actual historians to discuss topics, but it's only 45 minutes long.

The really does need to be some longform academic history podcasts though.

>crying about a 6 hour show not being detailed enough
>despite not actually directly saying what's wrong with it
>not autistic

No one actually thinks 45 min is the appropriate time needed for a topic beyond cliff notes. Its that long because of TV restraints.

>In Our Time
>TV

It's actually a panel radio show, but I get your point. It's really fucking good though, and there's 300+ episodes all available.

>BBC not TV

Should probably specify?

>I'm a moron who needs to be spoon-fed

>Tell us more about such and such.
>Well --
>Sorry, we'll have to skip that.
>Do you want coffee or tea?

>playing actual recordings instead of quote-endquote
shit episode

What the hell? I loved Dan's quotes.

>opinions

Dan carlin does have a history degree

This. Carlin is literally a sophist.

>He gets all sorts of basic stuff wrong

Proofs?

They are terrible
>so let's talk about {name}, Patricia pleas you start
>I would say that {name} was very interesting, very unique
>Nigel would you agree?
>Yes. There are some new studies about {name} aren't they?
>Yes........
>Indeed
>Polite laughing noices of 4 people
>Well that's all for now. Next time we will discuss {another name}

>khrushchev
>krush chev
>not krush chov
dropped

I wish he'd do more on Rome, WW1/WW2 and the Mongols. All were GOAT tier episodes.

I'm surprised he hasn't done one on the crusades yet. It's ripe for the picking

He probably had problems where to start with that

Ahhh I was waiting for when we'd become contrarians.

wow if you listen to this while hiking you are ruining your walk.

>Fuck OFF fucking nazi scum
