Franco did nothing wrong?

Franco did nothing wrong?

That is up for debate, friend.

Depends, was he a dictator?

We're not talking about the US president user.

This allows us to establish what constitutes a dictatorship. If unilateral decisions by a head of state are charateristics of dictators, then since Obama isn't a dictator, we can agree that there's a spectrum. That being a dictator is not binary. We can now try to pinpoint Franco on this authoritarian spectrum. Restricting the debate to absolutes is unwise.

he stole people's identities

Is a dictatorship always bad? Is not a benevolent dictatorship preferable to social chaos or civil war? Look at the Spanish miracle. The year before his death Spain was 8th biggest GDP, 2nd highest growth rate after Japan etc.

Do you judge him on results or methods. A mix? If so what split?

a national hero

He shouldn't have handed power to that cuck prince who turned Spain into a liberal shithole.

>there's a spectrum to being a dictator where did you get this idea

His original choice at a successor did get assassinated.

Freemasons are a cancer

His shitty regime had to survive on food aid from Argentina for over a decade until he wisened up and begun implementing free market reforms, but this meant turning his back on autarky, fascism and everything he had believed until then.

Now retarded stormfags praise him for the "Spanish miracle" forgetting the two decades of third world stagnation under fascist protectionist policies before. Spain only begun to reform and improve on the tail end of his rule.

This. Current Spain is worse off because of the 2008 financial crises, not the gov't in power. And they are steadily recovering from it as well.

>franco
>fascist

Opus technocracy is a flawless form of goverment and what made Spain great again. We should have become a theocracy but Juan Cucklos I chose to put an illiterate dumbass and an Andalusian gypsie in charge of the goverment

this is pretty correct.

The Spanish Civil War ended in 1939 and Franco became a great ruler only in the 60s when he implemented free market reforms and gave administration to Opus Dei Technocrats.

>Didn't do shit to help his country out of the shitter it had been in
>Championed capitalism at the expense of compromising everything José Antonio and the rest of the Falange stood for
>Rewrote the doctrine of the Spanish Falange and essentially reduced it to a piece of paper that said "I can do whatever I want"
>Had absolutely no interest in positively contributing to the people of the nation, only cared about military
>A dumbfuck that only knew how to aim a gun and kill communists
>Got shot in the fucking dick and lost a testicle because of it

Franco was a fuckin' dickhead. Josè Antonio Presente

>defended Catholicism
>defeated the communists
>saved nuns and priests from slaughter
>opposed international jewry and freemasonry
>enforced Christian moral family values
>didn't go full retard like hitler and Mussolini

He's one of my favourite leaders

>>opposed international jewry and freemasonry

You're going to have to explain this one

Any good reads on his rule? The fact he was ruling up into the 70's is so interesting.

>A dumbfuck that only knew how to aim a gun and kill communists

This all any leader needs to know.

>the prosecution of freemasons in Spain began with Primo de Rivera´s dictatorship (from 1923 to 1930). [7] In September 1928, one of the two Grand Lodges in Spain was closed and approximately two-hundred masons, most notably the Grand Master of the Grand Orient, were imprisoned for allegedly plotting against the government. References to a "Judeo-Masonic plot" were a standard component of Franco’s speeches and propaganda. According to Francoists, the Republican Regime, which Franco overthrew, had a strong Masonic presence. [8] In reality Spanish Masons were present in all sectors of politics and the armed forces. [9] Franco produced at least 49 pseudonymous anti-Masonic magazine articles and an anti-Masonic book during his lifetime. According to Franco: "The whole secret of the campaigns unleashed against Spain can be explained in two words: masonry and communism... we have to extirpate these two evils from our land.” [10] During the military coup of 1936, many Freemasons trapped in areas under Nationalist control were arrested and summarily killed. It was reported that Masons were shot, tortured and murdered by organised death squads in every town in Spain. A list was assembled with 80,000 suspected masons, even though there were little more than 5,000 masons in Spain. The slightest suspicion of being a mason was often enough to earn a place in a firing squad. By 16 December 1937, according to the annual Masonic assembly held in Madrid, all masons that had not escaped from the areas under nationalist control had been murdered. [11] After the victory of dictator General Francisco Franco, Freemasonry was officially outlawed in Spain on 2 March 1940. Being a mason was automatically punishable by a minimum jail term of 12 years. Masons of the 18º and above were deemed guilty of ‘Aggravated Circumstances’, and usually faced the death penalty. [10] The suppression of Freemasons in Spain continued for 39 years until the dictator's death in 1975.

What's wrong with masons? They're just like LARPers on a con but at least they could break some sweet deals and arrange businesses in their gatherings.

he did a couple things wrong for sure, but he's better than the fucking reds.

Stanley Payne's biography on Franco is pretty good
