LBJ

>Carter didn't do anything wrong
He just alienated the United States from their allies and limp dicked everything else which allowed Iran to walk all over the dominant western power. Other than that, yeah, nothing wrong.

That ain't Silent Cal

Yeah but he gets his dick sucked too much by pseuds. Historians have a mixed opinion of him because of his decidedly illiberal agenda in regards to Mexico (a far break from the high-minded idealism that characterized the founding fathers) and his brazenly pro-south policies that helped to alienate northern democrats and the fact that the land annexed in the Mexican-American War was one of the biggest issues that eventually broke open the schism between free & slave states. Pseuds however just latch onto the whole "accomplished everything in one term" thing and hail it like he was the greatest statesman to ever hold the office which is a joke.

He doesn't come near the top.

"allies", you mean the ones that had sold us down the river with imperialistic goosechases, looting our gold reserves in the process? fuck em.

Best: Reagan

Worst: Lincoln

Polk. The man did EVERYTHING that he campaigned to do, took the good half of Mexico, and did it all in one fucking term. What a legend.

(always triggers Veeky Forums)

...

But he also didn't do anything right
He was a nice guy, an 'outsider' to Washington.
But that meant he couldn't lobby/persuade 'washington'.
