>what is double taxation

Corporate tax rate is so high because it's an indirect way to make money. Insiders like Apple get to use loopholes to, in some cases, even make negative income tax, but it still earns revenue without pissing off the plebs. The results of higher corporate taxes fuel anti-corporate sentiment, not anti-government sentiment.

Lowering the rate will most definitely stimulate investment. Look at Ireland as an example. In certain cases, countries that lack significant amounts of cheap labor or large natural resources will cultivate a pro-business environment to attract development. Hong Kong, Singapore, and others have all copied this model.

I'm probably misunderstanding this but essentially companies are actually better off with the way the corporate tax system works now and reform by trying to bring them back to the US is good for the economy as a whole but not for the corporations themselves?

>1. Why is the American corporate tax rate so high

It's how the federal government collects revenue without directly charging individual citizens
>2. Is it true that lowering the rate will stimulate investment?
Yes, it happened in Ireland during the Celtic tiger and is the reason it's not a poor shithole today.

>the American corporate tax rate so high
oh you mean the one that none of the multinationals actually pay? it's like silicon valley teaches a class in tax evasion and then wonders why infrastructure and public services fail around them

1. What the fuck are these axes?
2. Why does this conflate personality with philosophy?

Those countries only exist as long ass others allow it.

I don't know but lowering money-wages would stimulate investment still further than that, but no assfuck wants to run on that platform anywhere near a government building so forget actually improving our economy

Shhhhh don't actually acknowledge the retarded image OP made

Corporation tax is only paid by suckers, that's why. Roll-over business relief means its effect is essentially meaningless for any large corporation.

MAGA: tax rates back to 40%!!!!

>lowering the rate will stimulate investment
Not necessarily so.
The economy is a very complex system. And tax rates are not the only parameter influencing investments.

The big economic boom of the 50's happened with a tax rate more than double that of today.

>there are people running countries RIGHT NOW who think economies are driven by supply and not by demand

It's /leftypol/ pseudoscience based on muh myers-briggs and armchair specious psychology - philosophy correlation claims.

Leftists fill their head with nonsense like Lacan and Jung, get the idea they can psychoanalyze people online through TCP/IP, and become even more obnoxious as a result. It's a wonder how anyone manages to be leftists under this overbearing tide of sheer smugness coming from people who think they can cold read you from e-shitposting.

It's the same for both sides.

why did you save this retarded chart

Not OP, but you don't need to save images in order to post them

Because it's provocative

That's mostly because companies didn't have to pay any tax if they reinvested most of it. It's also noteworthy that the 50's was the beggining of the offshore bank account.

...

desu this chart is hilarious

1. it's not
2. no, see failure of "trickle down" economics and current wealth inequality

Chart was definitely made by a right tard as all the leftist categories are their stereotypical cucks or degenerates.
