This is such an absurd concept when you think about it. Even 100 years ago it was pretty normal that a son got married and lived with his wife in the same house as his parents and had children. Then after the parents got old and sick, the son cared for them in the same house until they died, then his children would take care of him, and so on.

Now instead of one family living in a single household, you got a family living in 10 separate houses, which both breaks up family/land ties and absurdly wastes resources. It's common for children to not even know their own grandparents. Conservatives often decry that people don't give a fuck about their nation anymore, well how are you supposed care about your nation when your very own family are basically strangers to you?
