The causes of a riot are usually just the straw that breaks the camels back

South central LA had a myriad of factors that caused it to become dilapidated. Desegregation happened and virtually all of the educated and affluent blacks left. The good middle class Blue collar jobs left across the pacific and then across the border. The war on drugs targeted and jailed a generation of black men who could have been leaders in the community. The CIA flooded the streets with Central American drugs. New immigrants from Asia who were all almost exclusively upper class doctors,lawyers,businessmen,etc. all came over and started working the lower class jobs they once had a monopoly on.
