Funny you mention her. I roughed this out the other day, trying to think of some sort of sexy design for her. But I'm kinda thinking now she needs to be younger/teen looking - given that was her actual age. This is obviously a more womanly and battled hardened Joan. I have no idea how to draw proper armor though lol so it's probably beyond my abilities to render something convincing.

Nah i don't im afraid. Illustration is only a hobby of mine and most of what i do is done in my spare time and then either gets deleted or never finished. I'm kinda still training myself/developing a style i suppose and i can't post my work in any official capacity because i literally have nothing worthwhile to present.

Yeah i really really need reference stuff like . I just never know where to find it. Usually it's just googling photos of stuff - which is only somewhat helpful.

While it's good to strive to always get better, I think you're being too harsh on yourself. That Jeanne d'Arc you posted is better than most of the stuff I've ever seen on Tumblr amateur artists blogs or DeviantArt. I really think you should create a blog somewhere where you can upload even unfinished works, both to get some feedback and as a good way to see your style develop and your skill progress. Anyway, I'd love to see more of your illustrations, so if you feel like uploading some here that would be awesome.

Regarding reference stuff, you have books from Osprey Publishing for anything related to military history. Maybe look in the archive ? I'm sure I've seen Osprey torrents links pop up.

There's an equivalent: "camarade". Though that user's version "Mon Dieu, je ne pensais pas vous inspirer de cette manière, mon ami." sounds pretty good and medievalish while staying feminine. Camarade sounds too modern to my ears. You could also use "monsieur" (sir), maybe "mon seigneur" (my lord).
