Nigger "government". See, any civilization that can traverse the stars in any sort of practical fashion is going to have technology that is too advanced for Earth to deal with. Open, regular resistance is right out.
However, dinduism is perfect for making Earth too hot to handle. The Aliens would be too worried about theft, random sexual assaults, general laziness and stupidity, etc. They would quickly realize that holding onto Earth is a net loss, because they can't get anything out of the local workforce except rising police/occupation costs.

Authoritarian socialism, Stalinist style but without as much paranoia (i.e no great purge).

Through authoritarian socialism, Stalin was able to rapidly industrialise a nation that had previously been a backward agricultural monarchy/aristocracy not very long ago.
He did this because he knew Russia had about 10 or so years until fascists would destroy the USSR, so he ruthlessly prepared it for the incoming apocalypse.
He was successful. You don't need to have all the ideological bullshit, but you need the government to have ABSOLUTE power over the economy and the people, to preserve human existence.

This question is completely asinine. Expansion into space will not be colonialism 2.0.
The odds of aliens being within a few hundred years of us technologically are insanely remote. If there is intelligent life nearby, it could be millions of years more advanced than us, and wiping out our species would be as easy as a sending a genetically engineered virus in a space probe. Or maybe diverting a comet and letting humanity perish in another impact on the scale of Chicxulub.
If there's one silver lining to the prospect of being eaten by star gods, it's that if there were insanely advanced aliens nearby, we'd probably have detected them by now. But as far as we can tell we live in a boring, sparsely populated galactic backwater.
