Why couldn't the Europeans invent any martial art that's actually useful? Everything that is widely practiced in MMA is Asian origin: Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Judo, Karate, etc.

Lots of guys in mma come with a wrestling background. Muay thai overtook the fist techniques from western boxing.

There's no reason to pick up wrestling when you can pick up Judo/Jiu-Jitsu instead. The ones that do it are inferior to the greatest fighters.

We had weapons.

Western Martial Arts

>Martial arts are codified systems and traditions of combat practices, which are practiced for a number of reasons: as self-defense, military and law enforcement applications, mental and spiritual development; as well as entertainment and the preservation of a nation's intangible cultural heritage.

western countries have developed useful martial arts. the difference is that asian countries give their martial arts a spiritual twist and in many cases try to add a beauty/elegance to it.
Krav Maga, if you consider Israel a "western" country for example took many ideas from different fighting styles and hammered out an incredibly practical style of fighting singularly focused on disabling your enemy, without any of the spiritual shit.

Western Martial arts was more focused on the expression of homosexual desires in a more equitable medium. Like wrestling.

Since the west invented homosexuality no other parts of the world had this problem.

But almost all of the wests "defense mechanism" were solely about taming a mans boipucci.

> Why couldn't the Europeans invent any martial art that's actually useful?

Unlike in Asia, in Europe everyone had the right to be armed with a sword(upper class) or knife or a dagger(lower class) wherever they went, so Europeans developed martial arts nearly solely tied to weaponry because unarmed fighting was seen as retarded;

Fedor used a "european" martial art though, sambo.

Alright you're a retard

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sambo_(martial_art)#History

>Sambo's early development stemmed from the independent efforts of Vasili Oshchepkov and Viktor Spiridonov, to integrate the techniques of Catch wrestling, Judo, Jujutsu, and other foreign martial arts into native Turkic wrestling styles. Oschepkov taught judo to elite Red Army forces at the Central Red Army House. Vasili Oschepkov was one of the first foreigners to learn Judo in Japan and had earned his nidan (second degree black belt, out of then five) from judo's founder, Kano Jigoro. Spiridonov's background involved indigenous martial arts from various Soviet regions as well as an interest in Japanese jujutsu

It is still developed by Europeans for Europeans.

Catch wrestling is also a european martial art.

And also, BOXING maybe? Ever heard of that?

Without the Asian influences it would be shit though. And Russians are barely European.

You're also not really differentiating between sport fighting and practical fighting.

You know, in practical terms, being a good boxer is probably your best choice.

You forgot to mention wrestling and boxing retard.

The only four "useful" martial arts are wrestling, boxing, Muay Thai and jiu jitsu, the rest are memes and literally dancing.

You forgot judo, nigger. Some styles of Karate are useful as well.

boxing and wrestling

Nice goal post moving asshole. You're clearly a troll.

Sage goes in the options field.

It's another "Asian Americans actually believe stuff like Kung Fu is useful in a real fight" episode again.

Wise Goatee Man: "You must be like water. Water adapt and take shape. This isn't platitudinous bullshit. Pls gib monies for monastery."

White men and African men are actually strong, so they didn't need martial arts to defend themselves like the feminine asian bois did and do.

An average drunk Russian barfighter could have probably taken out 90% of Asias best at any time.

>Krav Maga, if you consider Israel a "western" country
Israel is an asiatic country so it doesn't count.

>Judo
>Jiu-Jitsu
>Muay Thai
>Certain styles of Karate

Whitey can't compete.

Boxing is shit because you only learn how to use your fists and nothing else and wrestling is gay.

Isn't fencing a martial art?

And wasn't fencing itself based on older martial arts, e.g. spanish school of swordsmanship?

lol Asian Americans.

The only one you listed of any actual practical use is Judo, and I'm willing to put money on you not being Japanese and instead being some gook or chink.

Anyway, me and your sister are busy chang.

>wrestling is gay.
>having your concept of masculinity hinge around make-up wearing, plastic-surgery enhanced boy bands isn't

...

what the fuck am I watching

think its Turkish wrestling, where in order to win you have to put your hand under your opponents pants...

more champs in the ufc have wrestling backrounds than bjj or judo

>western countries have developed useful martial arts. the difference is that asian countries give their martial arts a spiritual twist and in many cases try to add a beauty/elegance to it.
No, the Asians are just autistic about tradition.
The West had the same weird spiritual twist to it, with attacks named after animals and secret techniques and shit.
It's just that our martial arts traditions died once they weren't all that useful anymore, while the Japanese are the only nation in history to get guns and then abolish them and go back to traditional warfare.

>You know, in practical terms, being a good boxer is probably your best choice.
Only in unarmed confrontations and when grappling is not a concern and your opponent is not competent at kicking, though.

Boxers are specialized and shit like kicks and sticks is their blind spot.

They will, however, buttfuck anyone when their specialty is all that's needed.

Martial arts are named after Mars. A european war god.

Jackass.

>Reply
cuz guns

>Russians are barely European
Surely a hundred times more European than you, Schlomo

Because they were busy in actual war, with actual weapons, rather than overly lethal dancing.

The dude who made it up was Euro and he started developing it in europe so it's fairly european seeing as most of Israel was immigrants at first

Blacks and Asians are natural brawlers

Whites are wrestlers

None of the UFC champions are asian because asians are horrible are horrible at fighting.

Most asian martial arts are practically useless when it comes to actual fighting, similar to how chinese expected to beat the british in the opium wars, china and chinese people are a perfect example of a paper tiger.

hahahaha

...

Just because Asians don't prizefight doesn't mean they can't you know.

>tumblr_

you have to go back

Europeans are extremely top heavy so boxing and wrestling are areas they excel. Kicking is useful but not as OP as you think.

Once a boxer is within arms reach of you the last thing you want to do is stand on one leg.

Lots of people seem to think bnoxers are slow punch robots. They aren't.

>What is pankration.

newfags

No. If they could compete they would.

Judo and Karate are openly ridiculed by MMA practitioners.
>Queensbury boxing

It's a pretty global sport i'll gramt you but it's mainly euro/us/brazillian.

>what is boxing
>what is wrestling
>what is savate
>What is fencing
>what is sambo

Heem yourself

This is a shitty argument. Every single one of those fighters uses BJJ, which was heavily influenced from Judo and Jujutsu.

That's not even including the champions in the past with Karate, Taekwondo, and Muay Thai backgrounds like GSP, Liddell, Ben Henderson, Machida, etc.

That's also not even including there was an entire generation of MMA that blossomed in Japan and saw the reigns of guys like Kid Yamamoto, Takanori Gomi, Mach Sakurai, Genki Sudo, Shinya Aoki, etc.

Asian martial arts is inextricably linked to the history of MMA and its development just as Western Arts like boxing and wrestling are.

Just how buttflustered do you have to be to post something like this?

>Lots of people seem to think bnoxers are slow punch robots. They aren't.
True.
They, however, can get fucked over by terrain (their movement style is specialized to an extreme extent towards even ground in a constrained arena), attack types that they have no counter for (low kicks, for example) and anything that would induce a feeling of "if this happens the fight will be stopped by the referee and thus I don't have to fight back competently".

Good luck being good enough at fighting to make use of these weaknesses, though. As you said, they are basically punch wizards, specifically because they are specialized.

However, both boxers and other martial artists have a huge-ass advantage when it comes to fighting anyone who hasn't taken martial arts lessons.
On the other hand, they are at a disadvantage when it comes to uncoordinated chimp-attacks, as training can quickly cause you to expect some kind of hidden rhythm. So, depending on the art, you might actually be at a disadvantage if you are at a specific skill level and fight someone who just wants to murder you for whatever reason.

Also, if you do Aikido, your self confidence might be your death. Not knocking Aikido here, but goddamn, at least do some kind of basic striking training with a resisting opponent and without choreography. Those grabs are fucking useless when most situations will involve fists, not Samurai and even if they are appropriate, you'll fail to execute them thanks to Aikido's lack of teaching any reflexes.

>On the other hand, they are at a disadvantage when it comes to uncoordinated chimp-attacks, as training can quickly cause you to expect some kind of hidden rhythm. This is something I've pointed out in similar threads like this, to truly excel at fighting you have to be bred for it, you have to be bred for war and violence. A shitpushing pleb bred to plow fields and fill silos can do all the martial arts training he wants, but he will never be a true warrior.

>no one mentions GlĂma, the one and only european martial art that actually survived for a 1000 years

This is precisely why the introduction of the firearm was so devastating to the social order of Asian countries. When combat requires a strict training regimen and the right traits from birth, you can have a privileged social order who can excel in these aspects, especially when many of your fellow man can't enter the right mindset for combat and lack the discipline of will needed to fight in orderly combat.

Enter the arquebrus, where a soldier no longer has to go toe to toe with a foe and only needs a fraction of the training a melee combatant would to preform. Suddenly, the peasantry, regardless of their skill, can be conscripted together and fight en mass at a proficient enough level to defeat enemies of far greater skill. Suddenly, four decades of training and a noble birth means nothing because any 12 year old chucklefuck can blast you away at 10 paces before you realize what's going on.

>what is Bare Knuckle boxing

Where would MMA fighters be without their secret Asian ninja scrolls?!?!

Thank you based Asians for giving us the martial arts!!!!!

The Greeks invented martial arts. Look up pankration. Pankration was like MMA, boxing, and wrestling combined but even more hardcore. The Greeks conquered Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Persia, India. Pankration was sent to India where it became the kshatriya fighting style. Then the Indians sent it to China where it became kung fu. Then China sent it to Japan and Korea where it became karate and taekwondo. Look it up. Next time you do your little front kick hopefully you'll think about where it originates. You're welcome. The word martial comes from the Roman god of war Mars. Mars is the Greek god Aries. Look it up.

Oil Wrestling. They cover themselves in olive oil and the goal is to get a good grip on the opponent's shorts so a good strategy is getting inside them where there is less oil

Naturally gifted fighters

I would split you in 2 little asian boi

Boxing and wrestling are probably the two most important disciplines in MMA nowadays.

It's even worse now, as you can get blown up by a robot controlled by an obese brown lesbian half the world away.

I look forward to the day when man wages war with engineered viruses, nanites, and computer programs. We'll all die without anyone even firing a shot.
